Brein Wins Copyright Infringement Ruling Against Pirate Iptv Sellers ByNitish Singh-May 28, 2018.216 Dutch anti-piracy company Brein has secured a court ruling against several Iptv pirate sellers found guilty of copyright infringement. The court has ruled against sellers of the pirate Iptv issuing a cease-and-desist order. If the accused are found to be guilty of continuing their conduct, they can face fines of up to € 10,000 per offence. The Iptv dealers have been found guilty of unlawfully selling access to more than 4000 TV channels and over 1000 regional and international films. The Dutch anti-piracy entity called Brein won a verdict against the country’s multiple Iptv sellers after a Maastricht district court ruled against three pirate Iptv box sellers. Brein has secured a decision against Leaper Beeher Bv and two other individuals found guilty of violating multiple copyright laws. All three piracy-enabled Iptv sellers will have to suspend all operations and failing to do so will impose fines of up to € 10,000 per violation of up to € 1 million. .217 Figure 1 Image Courtesy of Shopify The court ruled against the accused claiming that the content owners did not give explicit permission to re-distribute the material to the accused Iptv salesmen. For each new subscriber who signs up for the Iptvs after court ruling, the three companies will face fines of up to 5000 Euros. Brein has also succeeded in winning cease-and-desist orders against piracy companies that compel them to immediately stop any activity violating copyright. The three Leaper Beheer Bv Growler Bv DitisTv companies are to be held accountable for any unauthorized operation that breaches regulations. Failure to comply with court-specified regulations can result in fines of up to € 10,000 per violation. DitisTv is being prosecuted for fraudulent activities, too. Over 300 complaints have been lodged on the Netherlands Consumer Protection site for failing to offer the services provided by the undertakings not implementing refunds for faulty products as well as expired membership plans despite customer payments. Clark Roger is accused, although he denies, of being the Variety Jones from the Silk Road saga. Five years ago, everybody thought the Silk Road saga was over. When Ross Ulbricht was ironically caught the main face behind Silkroute in a science fiction section of the library of a San Francisco people truly believed this Saga would never ever be flashed again on a national newspaper. But only a few know that Roger Clark’s second half of this story remained untouched by the Us for years. Half a decade later, after Ulbricht’s arrest, his alleged mentor becomes an advisor, and right-hand ends up under Us law and enforcement custody. This 56-year-old Canadian has been extradited to a New York trial in the Southern District of New York from a Thai prison cell. He is here to be present at the accusation against his involvement in the project of Silk Road. The lawsuit against him clearly states that Clark, who used the pseudonyms Variety Jones during his active years, has been involved in crimes ranging from prostitution and money laundering and drug dealing. However, there is more to the picture reported by Wired a few days ago. Wired states in one of their papers that there are other allegations for which Clark could be held to account. These charges relate to his outsize role that he played during the construction and management of the Silk Road. He also kept several vital fragments of the projects during this period, from marketing to security audits, to allow Ulbricht to use violence to maintain his control. Clark was detained about two and a half years ago in Thailand and has since been held in a Bangkok prison under Thai police surveillance. Although Ars Technica’s publication interviewed Clark after the arrest, in which he said the police had discovered nothing resembling Ulbricht on him. Ulbricht was caught in a panic and couldn’t encrypt anything before they confiscated him and his laptop – he added. Clark also told the same publication that he had no intention of going to the Us and had treated it as an impossibility. Clark will find it difficult to prove his innocence if he is innocent considering that the authorities have been drilling Ulbricht for the last 5 years and must have sufficient evidence to initiate the extradition first. The proof could include transcripts of correspondence in Ulbricht’s journal between Ulbricht and his top adviser. According to the sources Ulbricht Journal has repeated references of this advisor he named with the name Variety Jones. The Journal also has articles that describe Jones as having ever encountered the best and biggest character Ulbricht. If the claims against Clark are true since he and Ulbricht are both in the Us they could be together again. And this may not ever be satisfied after.
