Brein has also succeeded in winning cease-and-desist orders against piracy companies that compel them to immediately stop any activity violating copyright. The three Leaper Beheer Bv Growler Bv DitisTv companies are to be held accountable for any unauthorized operation that breaches regulations. Failure to comply with court-specified regulations can result in fines of up to € 10,000 per violation. DitisTv is being prosecuted for fraudulent activities, too. Clark Roger is accused, although he denies, of being the Variety Jones from the Silk Road saga. Five years ago, everybody thought the Silk Road saga was over. When Ross Ulbricht was ironically caught the main face behind Silkroute in a science fiction section of the library of a San Francisco people truly believed this Saga would never ever be flashed again on a national newspaper. But only a few know that Roger Clark’s second half of this story remained untouched by the Us for years. Half a decade later, after Ulbricht’s arrest, his alleged mentor becomes an advisor, and right-hand ends up under Us law and enforcement custody. This 56-year-old Canadian has been extradited to a New York trial in the Southern District of New York from a Thai prison cell. He is here to be present at the accusation against his involvement in the project of Silk Road. The lawsuit against him clearly states that Clark, who used the pseudonyms Variety Jones during his active years, has been involved in crimes ranging from prostitution and money laundering and drug dealing. However, there is more to the picture reported by Wired a few days ago. Wired states in one of their papers that there are other allegations for which Clark could be held to account. These charges relate to his outsize role that he played during the construction and management of the Silk Road. He also kept several vital fragments of the projects during this period, from marketing to security audits, to allow Ulbricht to use violence to maintain his control. Clark was detained about two and a half years ago in Thailand and has since been held in a Bangkok prison under Thai police surveillance. Although Ars Technica’s publication interviewed Clark after the arrest, in which he said the police had discovered nothing resembling Ulbricht on him. Ulbricht was caught in a panic and couldn’t encrypt anything before they confiscated him and his laptop – he added. Clark also told the same publication that he had no intention of going to the Us and had treated it as an impossibility. Clark will find it difficult to prove his innocence if he is innocent considering that the authorities have been drilling Ulbricht for the last 5 years and must have sufficient evidence to initiate the extradition first. The proof could include transcripts of correspondence in Ulbricht’s journal between Ulbricht and his top adviser. According to the sources Ulbricht Journal has repeated references of this advisor he named with the name Variety Jones. The Journal also has articles that describe Jones as having ever encountered the best and biggest character Ulbricht. If the claims against Clark are true since he and Ulbricht are both in the Us they could be together again. And this may not ever be satisfied after. Do you think that Clark is the Jones Type accused? Do you think this extradition gives a bigger picture? Let us know about it in the comment section. Latvian Isps Can Now Block Pirate Iptv Websites Without Court OrderByBill Toulas-2 January 2019.219 Figure 1 Photo Credits: Edijs P?lens/ Leta. A new law on electronic mass media that will require Isps to block piracy domains after a specific request. The Latvian government is intensifying its action against piracy, as copyright owners are rising their pressure on them. A new Latvian law which has just come into force burdens Isps (Internet Service Providers) of the country with domain blocking obligations. The targeted domains include pirate sites that illegally broadcast unlicensed TV content over the Internet. As is the case throughout the world right now pirate Iptv services in Latvia have shown an explosion in their growth with many thousands of people opting to subscribe to these platforms and enjoy a rich collection of available content at a meager cost. The new law budget allocated to Nesmi for the blocking feature is roughly $335k for 2019, and another $280k for the next two years, according to. Whatever is left from this budget will be invested in the development of a special piece of software that will search and monitor websites that contain copyright infringing material. The blocking of a domain will last for six months with the option to extend this period while the reported Url remains on Nesmi’s blacklist. The new law that overrides the need to seek a court order to block the domain is the result of close cooperation between the Latvian government and a group of 14 corporations that are interested in protecting copyrighted content from piracy in Latvia. This is only the latest step taken after numerous raids were carried out by the Latvian police in 2018 at locations that housed piracy website networks many criminal cases were brought before the court and many illegal broadcasting companies were fined and closed. Latvians will have to resort to the traditional bypassing methods used everywhere these domain blocks occur, so that the technical means are still there irrespective of the intensification of the piracy fight. Nevertheless, new laws that streamline the action against pirating websites simplify and speed up the blocking process, so this is nothing short of another punch to Latvian piracy’s face.
