Long pressing web Urls will pull up a second bar with clear buttons for copy sharing and editing. A recent update to Chrome Dev and Canary introduced a new feature allowing users to copy and transfer Urls more easily from the search bar. The functionality was shown off at the first release of Chrome’s Duet app. Users were left guessing how the demoed feature actually worked, but in the new update, with the app finally available; we can try it out ourselves. You can tap on the search icon in its current iteration visiting a web page allowed by Chrome with Duet and the current Url would be selected automatically. Simply press the Url for a long time and you’ll be able to copy and transfer the Url manually. Whereas you can simply tap the search icon in the latest beta and it opens a new search bar that allows you to enter a new Url and a second bar becomes available with the current URL that allows you to edit or copy it. .089 Figure 2 Photo Courtesy of Android Police The copy icon shown on the current version of Chrome has a copy button that is not available in either the Chrome Dev or Canary beta builds. To get access to it manually, you need to press on the search button. Although it is not a major change compared to eliminating misleading advertising or its recent crackdown on compulsory subscriptions to websites, it is a long overdue quality of life change.
