MasterCard declares Data breach on their ‘ Priceless Specials ‘ planMasterCard acknowledged the security incident after two security packs have been leaked online. The compromised information includes the names of Cvc email card numbers, and more. Affected customers will receive free identity theft protection services and have been told. As reported by Heise Onlinea’s second file, onlineMasterCard acknowledged that a security incident affected their Specials system and revealed all relevant details to the German and Belgian Data Protection Authorities as required by law. MasterCard clarified that the data leaked concern only the numbers of the payment cards used in their loyalty program and claims that the incident is not connected to their payment network at all. Nonetheless, they support Heise’s observations of the nature of the leaked spreadsheets that include full customer names, their DoB email addresses, and in many cases even their postal addresses and mobile phone numbers. The second file also included the expiration dates for the card and the numbers for the Cvc. The two lists that leaked concern only German and Belgian citizens and that is why they were notified accordingly only to the corresponding authorities. Ufc Urges the Us Congress to Increase Constructive Blocking of Piracy

ByBill Toulas-June 26, 2019.439 Ufc lobbies for new laws that would promote constructive blocking of pirating stream connections. Their representative says Facebook and other social media platforms don’t do enough at the moment. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (Ufc) general counsel encourages the Us Congress to create incentives that would force online platforms to block pirated live streams on the internet without needing a notice of takedown. Mixed Martial Arts is a very common pirating genre and live broadcasts are becoming accessible via numerous links right before and throughout the length of a match. Broadcast rights owners find it very difficult to get to grips with this issue because new links are shared on social media all the time so no matter how many many pop up are blocked. There are even dedicated Iptv channels and whole subscription packages focusing on Mma games, and the takedown notifications entering these sites are completely ignored. Also their hosting services take their side agreeing not to take down the live feeds in the event that a warning is sent from the rightsholder. In the past, we have documented this issue again and it’s obvious that the people behind this product (fighting sports) are taking every step they can to protect their business and interests. The Nba and the Ufc have recently requested the criminalization of Iptv streaming and now Ufc is also suggesting pro-active blockade. According to Ufc’s Riche McKnight, while they negotiated with several social media companies on unique deletion agreements that host the links that pop up during a boxing match, the online platforms seem to be neglectful of the requests, so the links are not immediately removed. This does considerable damage to the rightsholders as even minutes of online life turn into many thousands of illegal viewers for these links. McKnight is proposing a law change that would force social media companies like Facebook to proactively delete certain connections without even needing notification from the Ufc. As McKnight told the senators: “To counter online piracy, private voluntary agreements [ with online platforms ] are not enough. Dressing up this problem requires a new approach that includes a strong legal framework, a combination of private and public enforcement and enhanced cooperation with our international partners. “Criminalization of streaming remains the primary objective of Ufc’s lobbying, as it will significantly change the area. Until then, a move from reactive to proactive takedowns would allow the legitimate broadcasters now with their backs on the wall to have much-needed breathing space. The Us Congress will now have to decide what new legal structure will accommodate Ufc’s specifications and unfortunately one that would include upload filters at this stage is a real possibility.ByBill Toulas-June 26, 2019.439 Ufc lobbies for new laws that would promote constructive blocking of pirating stream connections.
