This bob has soft layers that compliment a round face in the best possible way. The mid part also helps to balance the shape of the face by creating an elongated face illusion.

Permed Bob

This magnificent perm job proves that even creating beautiful natural-looking curls from straight hair is possible. To keep your curls lively and beautiful, be sure to visit your curl stylist every few months for a retouch.

Flippy Layers

Use soft flippy layers to bounce your hair! Benefit from the instant volume you’re going to have without having too much weight in your hair.

Wispy Bob With Long Bangs

Pixie Bob

This is a beautiful short pixie bob textured with subtle lowlights for a sleek shag look. In addition to the light short choppy layers at the ends, the entire haircut is exceptional. Concave Bob

One of the sexiest cut you can try this season – the short concave bob built to be longer in front and shorter backwards. It will change your appearance to a chic look without much effort, depending on how you want to style it.

Bright Red Bob

If you want to stand out from the crowd, short bobs like this bright red one look amazing. The use of highlights gives so much depth to lowlights and textures.

Wedge Bob

Funky Bob

When you try this amazing ocean bob, give not only your hair but your life a color pop! Turkeyoise is a high-maintenance but enjoyable and super-value color to try to make it look great on fair skin. Ear Length Bob

Without a sexy eyeliner and lip work, a little French bob like this would suit chic and classy girls who would never leave the house. Nonetheless, making this haircut work requires only less skin, the volume that the texture provides is really impressive.

This look will definitely love those who want their faces to look slim and new! Note how it begins for an elongating effect in a center part straightened down just next to the jawline and then finished for a touch of elegance with waved ends.

Thick Skin Long Bob
QA with Veronica Abram Independent Hairstylist design maker @ Suite 78 – Los Angeles Salon Republic Ca How would you describe this look? This chic and cool bob haircut is classic and never goes out of style. I think it’s a haircut that fits a lot of face shape, and the only thing you need to consider is how long your face shape will go. The goal here is to build an oval shape appearance. A client with straight hair and medium density is the most ideal candidate when it comes to hair texture since they don’t have to spend a lot of time trying to style their hair. If you’re interested in adding some color to this type of haircut, you can either get some balayage highlights, but even a natural hair color would make it look good. To create the shape, this haircut will be done with 0-degree elevation if you want the classic bob. You can choose either an A-line bob or a square bob. I like to dry my hair once my foundation is cut. I typically like to cocktail two items with the same brand – Kadus frizz down lotion and velvet oil. Use a paddle brush to hug the shape of the head to smooth the cuticle of the hair on damp hair and blow-dry. Then, if the hair is not smooth enough, I like to smooth the hair on top with a round brush. I like to perfect my haircut once it’s cool. To create some movement, I either give some texture at the ends or some internal layering. Any advice that someone thinks about it? Use an anti-frizz product if you want smooth hair and blow-dry your hair. If you want a sleek look, you can also help smooth the ends with a flat iron. If you want to make an edgy look, you can add a few beachy waves and after using a textured hair spray such as Oribe textured hair spray and amounts of big sexy hair volumizing and textured powder. Good for fine hair customers. Short Black Bob With Bangs

The ends are swept inward for a face-frame effect in this perfect jet black short bob with bangs. By adding texture and appeal, this cool choppy fringe improves the look even more. QA with Corinna Hernandez Stylist design maker @ Pony Salon in San Francisco Ca This is a mid-neck length razor-cut bob with graduation. This girl has her face-fitting bangs – shorter and more textured. To order to encourage natural movement and texture, this cut was not dried with a brush but with a diffuser and surf spray. The natural color is this color – almost black! The suggestions that someone feels about it? This is a great look for someone who likes to wear shorter hair with little to loose waves and with some surf spray just want to let it air dry.

Shaggy Hair

Shaggy is the best and easiest way to make your hair look thicker and more voluminous. Play with wavy layers towards the end for a beautiful performance. QA with Mica Popovich Senior Stylist style founder @ Edo Salon in San Francisco Ca How would you describe this look? This style I like to think of as a shaggy bob. It’s cut with a straight razor that eliminates a lot of weight. A gentle version of a classic slice, both natural and modern.

Of course Curly Bob

QA with model Lauren Kieninger Co-owner Stylist @ Barbara Barbara in Chicago Il How would you describe this look? This is an angled bob with a lot of layers. It is shorter in the back and slightly longer in the front, but it also has a lot of shorter layers to break down the heaviness that can build on the cut foundation. It helps prevent the shape of the ‘ triangle. ‘ There’s a lot of hair in this client. We’ve done an undercut to eliminate some of the extra bulk which helps keep the shape for a long time and it’s fun! I love the front of the longer pieces. This client regularly changes her bob’s shape so we’re still playing around with something different! The advice that someone thinks about it? Angled short bob hairstyles look great on most face shapes and it’s more about the cut’s smaller tweaks which give it a custom-made feel. The undercut or the bangs are some examples. She uses DevaCurl Volumizing Foam to keep her shape up everyday, followed by either a curl gel or cream depending on the season and what her hair needs. She uses DevaCurl Ultra-Gel during the warm months and she uses DevaCurl Supercream during the cold months. Generally she allows it to be air-dry and sometimes she follows up for about 5 minutes with her diffuser at low to give it some extra volume. This style can also last for two days or more. Occasionally she follows up for a little curl refresher on the second day with a tiny bit of foam scrunched into the hair. What I love about this style is that a wash-and-go look can easily be ideal for someone on the go.

Asymmetrical Cut

QA with Kaitlyn McHarg hairstylist style maker @ Eliane Hair Spa in Vancouver Bc How would you describe this look? This is an updated version of one of the most conventional haircuts ever. The bob has been around in some form or other for around 100 years now and as a stylist I find it never fails to disappoint! While it may look quick and undone, it’s also one of the most sophisticated haircuts and that’s why hairstylists are so in love with it! I love how fun and flirtious it is to move the front piece side by side! It’s also quite flexible because it could be a sleeker symmetrical cut if she decided to wear it in the centre!

QA with Remy Awan Co-Owner style in McLean Va Red Feather Salon How would you describe this look? My guest is clearly stunning, but the perimeter line’s strength accentuates her jawline while the layers are sitting at the level of the cheekbone to create interest and prevent the form from becoming too solid and heavy. Any suggestions that someone feels about it? The color is definitely something that requires a commitment to maintain. The haircut itself is relatively easy to style as the graduation should be sitting in place by itself when cut properly. Clearly the stylist will need to take into account the shape of bone structure hair density texture and growth patterns, but dealing with it on a daily basis is an easy haircut. Until drying, I used a few RCo Chiffon light mousse to add strength. To pull out the layers and give the finished look, some RCo Control paste too. Textured Graduated Bob

QA with Kaitlin Butler Educator style @ Bellus Academy in Poway / Stylist @ San Diego Factory Ca How would you describe this look?
QA with Audrey Ragan Hairstylist style maker @ Lunatic Fringe Salon in Franklin Tn How would you describe this look? This very short layered bob haircut is a classic form that has been modernized with a strong chippy fringe. The perimeter imitates the jawline which helps maintain balance and visual appeal. The suggestions that someone feels about it? This look is ideal for staying cool in warmer weather with the back cut close to the hairline on the nape. The heavy fringe fits well for oval shapes of the diamond and oblong face or to reduce a prominent front. It is suitable for fine medium or rough, straight to wavy hair.

Stacked Swing Bob

QA with Alisha McAlister Hair Stylist / Colorist style maker @ The Joplin Mo Cuttaway Styling Salon This is a classy stacked swing bob. My client is a barber and she enjoys being under-maintained in this fashion. She can wear it in many ways without shampooing regularly. I like this style because it looks perfectly smoothed out with soft curls or natural curls. This cut is flexible and offers a classy but sassy look to my client. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? The products I recommend to style everything depend on how they choose to wear this style. I use Kenra Blow Dry Spray to prepare the hair because it adds shine to amazing (like the beach) heat-protective smells and works perfectly as a moisture blocker. I also use Month Repair Leave-In Conditioner Month Restyle Instant Taffy Sculpture and Month Refinish Hairspray Powder. The Taffy is what I used to give her more texture / piecey curls to smooth flyaways. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For those with fine or thin hair, I wouldn’t recommend this haircut because they lack the thickness to make it look stacked. I will suggest a long bob (Lob) with long layers for fine / thin hair. In my opinion this cut looks great on any shape of the face. If someone has a round head, this cut would still be perfect, but to give the illusion of an oval shape, I would suggest a slight face frame.

Renee W Owens Owner / Stylist / Redken Color Expert Sunshine Hair Designs in Tarboro Nc How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? This textured and angled choppy short bob is one of my favorite styles. It is so flexible and can go from straight and smooth to allled and textured as the picture shows. This is such a fun flirty bob with an easy-to-duplicate deep side component at home. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I added Kenra Body Boosting Spray Foam and Kenra Blowdry Spray for gloss and shine for this look and then curled with a 1-inch iron that left the ends straight for a more textured feel.
How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This look I’d describe as elegant and enjoyable. People want to add texture to their hair as it adds interest to the style, but they also want to feel as though they still have a lot of hair. I love that this style produces a more complete look on any hair type while still retaining flowing layers and movement! What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? I love using Bumble and Bumble Thickening spray and All Style cream to add volume for this hairstyle before blowing drying. I finish with Oribe Dry Texture spray when the hair is dry to give the hair a lived-in all-encompassing textured feel. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for?

Short Inverted Bob

Use a short inverted bob to keep your nape in tip-top shape. Let the fluidity of your hair move, even in a short cut, to create a flawless curtain. Vintage Bob with Bangs

QA with Candyce DeMarc Owner / Barber style creator @ Pioneer Barber Company in Seattle Wa How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? For this look, the type of products I suggest would be mousse and texture spray to prevent it from getting to soft and flat lots of hairspray to hold the design in place and a pinch of silkening serum at the end. I love putting hair powder on everything as well! What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? I really like this vintage girls hairstyle especially beautiful women and girls of any age on someone with a rounder face softer features and/or a long neck to really capture this style’s vintage feel. It can be worn for a French feeling or styled with minimal to no makeup and hairstyling, and paired for a night out with makeup bold lips and a barrette or headband.

QA with Tiffany Shuck Hairstylist style designer @ Vain in Seattle Wa How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? This is an angled bob candidate. The back is cut to the hairline, and when the hair is straight or dirty, the front reaches almost mid-neck. I love the clean, precise line produced by the back and the texture shown as the curls of the hair.

Silvery Rounded Cut

QA with Aimee Frett Hairstylist style maker @ Salon Ambre in Temecula Ca How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? I love just about anyone how this cut works so well! It looks great hugging or even brushing the shoulders right around that jawline. There’s no ton of layering to handle so styling with a quick blow dry and maybe a touch up with a flat iron is super simple. To keep it soft and have motion, it has the perfect texture through the ends. Even with a fringe, this style looks great. For any classic female, it has that perfectly polished look plus the versatility for the more adventurous! You can give it more body and texture by simply adding a surface spray such as Eufora Full Impact. And take a curling wand and finish with Eufora Custom Dry Spray Wax in a beach breeze. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For anyone who likes short to medium hair, this cut is perfect. It can operate with any shape of the face simply by changing the angle of length and the fringe. For those with dense and unruly hair, it can take away bulk and give the thickness look for those with thin and loose strands.

Trendy Messy Bob

QA with the model Linda Marginean Hairstylist @ Catwalk by Ramona Mindru in Cluj-Napoca Romania How would you describe this look and what is your favorite? This look is very popular and very trendy among women of all ages. Because of its distinct suitability and practicality, hairdressers and customers alike love this haircut. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? For a smooth fixation and a leave-in wax, I suggest a volumizing mousse.
How would this look be described and what’s your favorite thing about it? The bob’s sharp, blunt impact makes a person look twice. My favorite thing about this look is that you feel atop the world when you have a blunt bob! It can swing and stream as you genuinely demonstrate your confidence. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I used a heat-protective spray and leave-in conditioner on wet hair. I used hairspray and a spray wax after drying. Evo is the brand that I use for my entire styling. I love it because every product does what it’s supposed to do. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? I recommend this look for a client no fear with an edgy and fashionable lifestyle. You can use curls / texture to wear it or have it straight and shiny.

Natural Graduated Cut

How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? With a neutral push on the sides, this look is a natural graduated bob. For style, this haircut is flexible. My favorite thing about it is that you can twist the brush wave or make it look flat. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I use a medium keep spray gel when the hair is wet. I love Rocco Altobellis spray gel because it has a rhatany root heat-protective in it. It also adds volume and brightness to the skin, and it is easy to clean. Round hair and style brush with any desired heat tool. Finish with 5 dry finish spray from Redken’s Wind Blown. It produces a smooth finish with a textured feel that is undone. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for?

Classic Bob With Fringe

QA with Tess de la Riva Hairstylist style maker @ Hue Salon in Houston Tx This look is so classic. It’s easy and easy to make it perfect for the girl who doesn’t want to get too busy and still look done. The bangs are making a difference! They give an edge to the haircut which is not a huge undertaking. It may not look like it, but in making this haircut, there was a lot of texture involved. It still looks great whether it’s messy or smooth out. This is a look that many people have forgotten. Who would have thought it could be so trendy for a plain one-length textured bob with bangs? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I recommend Kerastase Fluidissime Thermal Anti Frizz Defense Spray or Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother if your hair is naturally straight or has not too much texture. All items are strong but small. I recommend Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Nourishing Styling Cream or Kerastase’s Creme de la Creme blow dry cream if you have thick hair that needs to hold and style. These brands have a great hold that will not make the product look heavy on your already thick hair.
QA with Perri Lujan Hairstylist style maker @ Victor Paul Salon in Costa Mesa Ca How would you describe this look and what is your favorite? I love it because it’s so flexible. It’s still sexy and funny! When blowing it flat, it can look sophisticated for work, or you can put some curls into it and cut it out for some fun. It is a maintenance that is quick and weak. What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? I like applying Oribe Imperial Blowout from roots to ends and Oribe Maximista across before I blow dry a look like this. I finish flat iron with Brazilian Blowout Dry Oil after blow drying. I use a 1 1/4-inch curling iron when curling and finish with Oribe Aprà © s Beach. For a client who wants a quick and easy look, I would suggest this. For someone living a busy and active lifestyle, it’s fine. This style will work best on hair that is fine to medium in thickness.

Sassy A-Line Bob

What’s your favorite thing about this look? This look is more playful and sassy than your traditional short A-line bob. Instead of straight, the outside is textured and the inside is cut to remove excess weight. My favorite part of this look is the fact that it has a lot of style and is really low maintenance. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I suggest spraying Kevin Murphy Body Mass all over wet hair to preserve this look. With a blow dryer, this type can be dried air or dried loosely. Though this step is not required, finishing touches can be made with a wide barrel curling iron. Apply Kevin Murphy Doo Over to finish for a clean and undone look that will last the whole day. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for?

Edgy Face Framing Bangs

QA with maker design Chelle Johnson Apprentice @ Dallas Tx Level Workshop This look is 50 percent traditional 50 percent edgy. I love micro bangs, depending on how you style them, can be sweet or badass. Playing with shorter bangs is a fun way to change your look, because if you get tired of them, they will grow up in a few weeks! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? For separation and grit, I used R+Co’s Mannequin. I love the layers flyaway look. It’s a pliable material, so the look changes when she brushes her hair all day long. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This shorter bob is great for someone who enjoys changing her look and styling her hair every day.
What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? With this theme, goods play an important role! Until my blow dry, I enjoy using Paul Mitchell’s HydroCreamWhip to make sure the hair is smooth but still visible. Another alternative that I suggest is a Paul Mitchell texture cream called Reworks. I’m drying my hair with my fingertips or paddle comb. Once the hair is dry, an extra beach-like finish can be applied to the sea salt spray. This can be used directly or after running through the hair of a curling iron. Start with a spray of illumination or a spray of light start and you are done! What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For the client who does little or no styling at all, this style is perfect. On the go style, it’s perfect and a tad edgier than the classic Vidal Sassoon bob. Face shape plays an important role in determining the length, particularly in front. A smaller face shape is preferable, but it allows more space for someone more oval so it doesn’t cup the chin of the client and can extend the head.

One Length Blonde Bob

QA with style designer Janelle Parsons Creative Director and Salon Owner @ Meek Hd pty ltd in Coolum Beach Queensland Australia 4573 This strong baseline-style cut is a solid bob that produces the strength of blonde color work. My favorite thing about this look is the fresh blonde’s strength and the strong baseline What items do you suggest to preserve and recreate this look? As I am an ambassador of Redken, I use all the professional ranges of Redken styling and color to maintain this look. I prescribe shampoo and conditioner Redken Extreme as well as violet Blonde Idol cream. Aerate 08 and Style Work 12 hairspray are recommended for styling. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? A heart diamond or round face shape is the ideal client for this look. It is best suited for medium to good. The versatility of this style and design makes it possible for the look to suit any lifestyle from day to night as the blonde’s upkeep is a commitment and would require toners and re-coloring every four to six weeks. Layered Haircut

QA with Sara Kunkel Cosmetologist Nail Tech @ Sara’s Flawless finish in Tamaqua Pa How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I suggest any dry textured material, such as the new Kenra Air Grip Spray, to create volume and enhance the texture to reveal the hair movement. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For thick to medium textured hair, I suggest this cut!

I am a girl from John Paul Mitchell Systems through and through so the products I recommend will always be in this line of products! I’d use Rare Oil Style Perfecting Serum while the hair is still wet. The conditions add light and help maintain the look throughout the day. I’d use Hot off the Press as a heat-protective on dry hair. I would use Marula Rare Oil Perfecting Hairspray as a hairspray because it is resistant to moisture and extremely workable. I’d use Paul Mitchell Neon Sugar Spray for added texture. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? What I love most about this cut is that many of my customers are flattered! This haircut allows me to remove so much weight when someone has long thick hair, while also creating body and movement. For those of you who feel like you’re stuck in a rut and want to do your hair more, this cut is perfect! Consider less of a regular ponytail and a little more curl and sass every day. Shorter hair = less curling time!

Jet Black Chin Length Hair

What’s your favorite thing about this look? I’d describe this cut as contemporary and mod. The clean lines are my favorite thing about this cut. I always like to have a good foundation for my bobs and I like to think that when they wear it straight, my guest’s hair will lie beautifully. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? The products I used from the Seven Haircare brand for this look. I used a product called Seal, an equalizer to help equalize the ph and maintain high moisture content. I used the Diamond styling oil as well to add clarity and help with the sleek look. The last item I would recommend is a heat protection to help ensure that your hair is safe from any heat devices. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? The main thing you have to do with this cut is either go all the way and straighten it out or even put a little wave in it to give it more of a messy look but nothing that will take anyone more than 10 minutes to do every day.

Sleek Blunt Bob

What’s your favorite thing about this look? Timeless short bobs have many variations and my favorite part of this cut will work on every out there. I enjoy tailoring it to suit individual customer requirements. This one in particular is quite short blunt cropped is very clean with a sleek look and has a natural color of the size of the honey. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I love and use Kevin Murphy services on all my clients. Using the right hair products in the chair as well as at home for constant care is important. This customer loves improvement and she certainly benefits from the Leave-In. Repair after washing to help keep her hair healthy. I also used Smooth. Again leave-in lotion after towel drying to create a smooth look and a silky feel. It also offers excellent protection against sun. I rounded my hair to add a bit of body but kept in mind to keep it fairly straight. With any surface, this cut can be worn. It also looks great with volume swept or with natural curls scrunched.

Revive Salon Spa in San Diego Ca How would you explain this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? This is a textured bob with a lower highlight for cleaning. Everything I love about this look is that without the high maintenance, my client can have super blonde hair because we’re coloring her base with a color similar to her natural color (within two levels) to eliminate the demarcation line. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I use Boosta Spray and Elevate Mousse by Unite to keep my client’s hair. We’ve also planned Unite with 7 seconds. The 7 Seconds prepares her hair and keeps her blonde shine. She has a finer texture so that Elevate Mousse gives her hair a little extra grit to keep a curl and Boosta is used to add volume. You can customize this hairstyle for anyone. Changing the brand will make it work for people with thick hair or fine skin. It’s still long enough for the gal on the go to throw it up or wear it down with some loose beach waves that can be done with a wand or curling iron (when curling, just try to leave the ends out).

Sassy Angled Blonde Bob

What’s your favorite thing about this look? I’d describe this look as chic and funny. For any gender, it’s a great slice. I love long and short angled bobs! There are also decent types, dramatic or exaggerated! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? The items needed to keep this hairstyle will rely on the customer and the condition or needs of their hair. My client shown in the photo, for example, has a lot of hair but it’s super fine and thick. A teasing shampoo and hairspray are going to take her all the way. I recommend a creamy mousse (I use Redken) and a texture spray or texture balm to make it fun for those with fine to medium hair! I suggest to anyone with a long or oval shaped face, short bob hairstyles like this one. This look will give full hair illusion and remove from your long or oval shaped face.
