A solitary goal from Stoichkov gave Eibar three points, which is still in a giant killer plan and has defeated the two teams that came as leaders to their field in Ipurua, first at Sporting and this Friday at Almería.
Good match between two clear contenders for promotion to First Division. An Almería that came as a solo leader and an Eibar that had not known defeat for seven days, after losing the first two games. Surprise in the armera goal since Yoel replaced Cantero, who had been a starter on all previous occasions,

Eibar started well with good centers from Rober Correa to his teammates up front. They went without fear before the leader. Almería was not daunted either and did not want to give up an iota of ground. First minutes played from power to power.
As Almería settled on the field, they began to create danger on the counterattack, insistently looking for Sadiq, the second top scorer, along with Barça’s Stoichkov, each with six goals, and both on the grass of Ipurua this Friday. Stoichkov was precisely the one who enjoyed the first clear opportunity of the match in a hubbub in the Andalusian area that the armorer striker failed to finish off.
The game maintained the tonic with the two teams playing on the attack and without either renouncing to dominate. Two minutes later Sadiq countered with a cross shot that narrowly missed. Again Blanco Leschuk and Stoichkov tried twice with long shots that were masterfully repelled by Fernando. They were the clearest plays of this first period.
The game was gaining in intensity with an increasingly dominating Eibar, but without generating more relevant opportunities, until in minute 39 Stoichkov, could not be otherwise, broke with a dry shot and crossed the net defended by Fernando, thus overtaking the gunsmith box and marking his seventh goal of the season. In this way he was momentarily placed as a solo top scorer in the Smartbank League,
Lazo had it on the edge of the break with a point-blank shot that Yoel stopped very well, saving the score in favor of Eibar at half-time.
The second half saw an Almería more thrown on the attack in search of a draw and an orderly Eibar that defended itself well in the opening bars. A header from Samuel Costa after a corner kick was the first warning from Almería. De la Hoz also had it in his boots, after a false start by Yoel, but his shot was repelled by Sergio Álvarez.
The Andalusians continued to dominate in search of a necessary draw to be able to secure their privileged position in the table. The two coaches began to move their benches in search of adjusting details for the final minutes. Eibar sought to reinforce defensive containment and Almería a little more mordant and ideas in their lead.
These changes soon had their fruit, with a very clear chance of Pozo that crossed the ball out by centimeters. It was the penultimate for Almería, who could not break the dense Gipuzkoan defensive network, until Akieme, in discount, threw the ball slightly over the goal. Almería conceded their third defeat and Eibar sleeps in third position.
