The first country where the program was launched was in the Netherlands, not without controversies over the format. The historical audience records, however, ended up silencing the most critical voices.
In Spain, Big Brother was broadcast for the first time on April 23, 2000 and since then it has seen one edition a year, already reaching number 18.
