Sherman-Palladino’s big break came in 2000 when she produced Gilmore Girls for the WB. Mostly because of Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino the dramedy about a mother and daughter in a small Connecticut town. On top of working as producers and showrunners, the pair wrote and directed several episodes themselves for six seasons. After the sixth season however things took a turn and Sherman-Palladino and Palladino left the show during contract negotiations. Gilmore Girls aired only for another season before it was cancelled. Years later, when she was resurrected for four episodes on Netflix, Sherman-Palladino was able to get the ending she has always wanted for the show.

She won multiple Emmys for the series
Several critics and fans were surprised and disappointed that Gilmore Girls never won any Emmy awards. With The Wonderful Mrs. Maisel, this was easily rectified. For the first season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Sherman-Palladino won the Emmy with Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series as well as for directing and the series as a whole. Sweeping the whole comedy genre is unusual and it’s virtually unheard of for the same person who happens to be a woman to do so. What happens next?
The question that immediately comes to mind when someone wins this many major awards is: What will they do next? For the time being, Sherman-Palladino has full hands with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3, which is expected to be on Amazon Prime by the end of 2019 or early 2020.
