Astronomy
When we speak of astronomy we refer to the science related to the stars, and mainly to the laws of their movements. In this way, it is about scientific knowledge regarding the physical part of the stars: position, size, location, etc.
Astrology
However, astrology is the “study of the position and movement of the stars, through whose interpretation and observation it is intended to know and predict the fate of men and predict terrestrial events”, according to the dictionary of the RAE.
It should be noted that astrology studies are not considered a science, but some include it as pseudoscience or pseudoscientific belief, because they follow an unproven belief system.
Differences between astronomy and astrology
Astronomy is a science, while astrology is a pseudoscientific belief.
The study methodology is also different: astronomy is based on logic and deduction, from what can be seen; while astrology incorporates intuition and comparison between the stars and human beings in the study.
Through astronomy physical issues are studied, astrology seeks to know how the movement of the stars affects humans.
Astronomy studies effects such as eclipses, the passage of meteorites, comets, etc. while astrology is related to aspects such as horoscopes, astral charts, zodiac, etc.
