During this period, the Passion of Christ is commemorated: the entrance to Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Way of the Cross, the death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. But not all autonomous communities have the same holidays. This is the calendar, according to each territory:
– Party on Good Thursday and Friday (April 1 and 2): Andalusia, Aragón, Asturias, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Community of Madrid, Region of Murcia, Ceuta and Melilla.
– Feast on Good Friday and Easter Monday (April 2 and 5): Catalonia and the Valencian Community.
– Feast on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday (April 1, 2 and 5): Balearic Islands, Navarra, Basque Country and La Rioja.
Easter restrictions
Another year, this Easter will be marked by the coronavirus pandemic. There will be no processions or mass events. In addition, the Interterritorial Council will approve this Wednesday a plan to restrict mobility and prevent the start of the fourth wave. According to the latest proposal from the Ministry of Health, the autonomies would continue to be closed on the perimeter and social gatherings would be limited to four people indoors and six outdoors.
