They then coach our rivals to be better performers. There have been many contestants following the series who have had outstanding careers thanks to the coaches ‘ work. But just how much is its knowledge worth? Here’s a rundown of The Voice wages on the show for current and past coaches.

Shelton is often shown on screen to have fun and crack jokes with Adam Levine. So, it’s not that shocking he’d be one of the show’s highest paid coaches. He’s paid about $13 million per season to feature on The Voice in 2016, according to The Wrap. That was apparently increased before Season 12 however due to the discussions he and Gwen Stefani had made. “[ Blake and Gwen ] receive an outstanding bonus that is significantly higher than the other judges to keep the fire alive on camera,” a Radar Online manufacturing source reported. “The producers really want to see Gwen and Blake more often in rivalry this coming season as opposed to collaborating with each other as they have in the past.”

A large part of that came from her lifetime album sales which amounts to her earning $100 million. She has also had a $300 million contract with Live Nation concert business. Touring is also lucrative for any star but Shakira has made $150 million to go on the road. And since she is worth much more than the other coaches it makes sense to start with a much higher pay. The series couldn’t hold her on for more than two seasons, though.

The R B artist joined the cast together with Shakira in Season 4 and later returned in Season 6. He certainly has chops of singing which made him worthy as a judge. Like Shakira he is also a dancer with a great presence on the stage. Usher proved his worth at the series and won with Josh Kaufman in Season 6. “What I was looking for was every bit,” the coach told TV Guide. “Losing wasn’t a choice,” he added, “I couldn’t imagine going away this season after seeing Blake and Adam winning season after season. Keys is reportedly paid $8 million per season which is on par for most coaches when they start the show first. After winning in Season 12 she left but maybe she’ll be back in the future.

Miley Cyrus was an interesting choice to bring in younger fans and was possibly cast. She was able to give the younger artists also a different perspective on the series. According to Money Country, Cyrus was reportedly being paid $13 million for the season. This is much more than what was paying for Alicia Keys, which is probably due to the star power of Cyrus. Cyrus was back for Season 13 but probably sat out Season 14 due to her busy schedule.
