In poker the plays are always formed with five cards, regardless of the type of poker that is played (Texas Hold’em, Five Card Draw, Omaha Hold’em, Seven Card Stud).
Next, we show you the order of poker plays, classified from highest to lowest value. Obviously, the moves of a higher category beat those of a lower category.
Royal flush : the best play in poker. Awarded for gathering cards 10, J, Q, K, and A of the same suit. ‘El Dorado’ that every poker player dreams of.
Color ladder : it is made up of five cards of consecutive order of the same suit. The higher the highest card on the ladder, the better the ranking of the hand.
Poker : four cards of the same rank (that is, four cards of the same number). The higher the value of these four cards, the higher the ranking of the hand. In the event of a tie, possible in poker variants that use community cards, the hand with the highest fifth card wins.
Full : move that is achieved by gathering 3 cards of one value and 2 of another. When two full houses are compared, the one with the highest three-card value wins. If the three of a kind are of the same value in two hands, the hand with the highest remaining pair of cards wins.
Colour : it is made up of five non-consecutive cards of the same suit. The one with the highest card wins the tiebreaker between two colors.
Trio : It is made up of three cards of the same value. Between two triplets, the one consisting of the highest cards wins. If both triplets are made up of cards of the same value, the highest card of the two remaining in the hand decides the tiebreaker, and if those two cards were equal, the fifth cards of each hand would be compared.
Double Pair : it is made up of two cards of the same value in combination with two other cards also of the same value, but different from the value of the first two. When two hands show two pair, the hand whose pair is higher wins. As always, in the event of a tie, the highest card decides.
Couple : Two cards of the same value. The higher the value of the pair, the higher its ranking. In case of equality, the highest card is used.
Highest letter : When no player succeeds in making one of the plays listed above, the hand with the highest card wins. And in case of a tie, the next highest card is used.
