SiliconDust Launches Two New HdhomeRun Dvr Devices to Draw Cord CuttersByNitish Singh-January 9, 2019.359 SiliconDust has launched two new HdhomeRun Devices with integrated over – the-air tuners and Dvr capabilities. To work their Dvr servers the HdhomeRun Scribe Duo and Servio Devices do not need a Pc or Nas. The systems are intended to act as alternatives to expensive Nas devices. SiliconDust is known for its portfolio of HdhomeRun products that compete against the likes of Amazon’s Fire Tv devices and Nuvyyo’s Tablo Dvrtwo new devices at Ces 2019 the 2Tb Dvr storage HdhomeRun Servio and the 1Tb Dvr storage HdhomeRun Scribe Duo. SiliconDust’s new HdhomeRun apps are an attractive option for cord cutters, as they provide Dvr solutions without the need for expensive equipment such as Nas storage or a connected Laptop. It can do all of the recording and streaming functions alone. It also provides users the ability to access Fire Tv devices and other popular streaming apps from a cable subscription along with the normal compatibility with media players. Wireless access is also available if content is to be downloaded from your laptop or Pc. Even supporting the feature-rich hardware is great networking with built-in over – the-air antenna along with an Ethernet port of 0Mbps. Users can also opt for an optional subscription to HdhomeRun, which offers 45 cable channels. For a one year subscription the streaming service costs $35. Users will get a free subscription year upon purchase of the Servio or Scribe Duo units. Users who need more than two tuners have the option of buying a Connect Duo system which adds two more tuners at the same time to record content from four sources. Due to the high amount of storage on offer, which is a rarity in most regular Dvr systems needing external storage, you do not need to attach any external storage devices.
