It’s an experimental project that will automatically pause videos in the Google Chrome browser if the user turns away from the screen. This goes without saying that the extension allows you to have a Webcam on your laptop or desktop. Setting up FacePause On Google Chrome (Integrated / Standalone Webcam Required) you need to allow FacePause to work with the FaceDetector Api. You can do that by logging into your Google Chrome browser’s following address. .633.633 Figure 2 Chrome picture courtesy chrome:/flags#enable-experimental-web-platform-functions Download and install the Chrome Web Store FacePause plugin. If you don’t have a webcam built plug it in and wait for the drivers to mount the plug and play. When your camera is ready for YouTube use ear. Open any YouTube video you wish the feature to check on. A small box that has a “Face Play Disabled” message followed by a toggle switch will appear on the bottom right corner of your Chrome tab. Chrome should ask for access to the webcam next to the browser search bar. Tap on the prompt under “Open.” A small window will now pop up notifying you if your face is identified. If you see a green box around the window detect your face. If you do not see the green window it means your face can not be identified by the extension. Try looking away from the screen if the extension is working and your YouTube video will automatically pause itself. The extension doesn’t work flawlessly and faces are not correctly identified. In the coming weeks, the developer has planned future updates to allow the app to function better.
