Tatsumi Kimishima will be stepping down the current president at Nintendo shortly. Nintendo today showed its new earnings and the results look promising. The company has sold more Switch consoles in the first nine months since launching the Nintendo Switch than Wii U consoles have been sold in their entire lifetime. Newest earnings report reveals that in the last three months, the company has sold 2,93 million Switch consoles. Considering how the number of sold Switch consoles after the release was 7.23 million this is an expected decline in sales as all of the hype is gone. And finally, in the last three months, sales for 3Ds have been registered at a little over half a million. At the same time we have the Snes Classic Edition that has generated sales of 5.28 million over the last 12 months. Overall it seems as if from the start the Nintendo Switch was a very profitable product and it just keeps on giving. During this financial year the company made income of about 177557 million yen. And we can expect to see even more revenue when Nintendo starts charging Switch’s online features in September. The only thing that could slow down its competitiveness in the future is pirated games happening for that console. We should expect to see the new president, Shuntaro Furukawa, replacing Tatsumi Kimishima, who has been in power since 2015, as Engadget reports. Furukawa has been in Nintendo since 1994 and has worked in the company to date on different executive positions.
