Matt Groening was born in Portland Oregon on 15 February 1954. His father, Homer Philip Groening, was a filmmaker a writer and cartoonist advertiser, so it’s easy to see how Matt got the knack to write cartoons. His mum was a teacher once. Matt got a Lincoln High School degree. He was the editor of the campus newspaper The Cooper Point Journal while at college. He mixed this with writing and drawing cartoons for the magazine, too.
Matt Groening was married twice in his lifetime. From 1986 until 1999 he was married to his first partner, Deborah Caplan. The comic book First Matt entitledLife in Hellbecame an underground sensation. It was loosely inspired by a chapter from the book Critique of Religion and Philosophy byWalter Kaufmann. At first he distributed it in the Licorice Pizza arecord store’s book corner which he had been working on. Then one of the strips he created for Life in Hell captured the attention of producer James L. Brooks from Hollywood, who then asked the young chap to take part in his future projects. Working with them, Matt created Simpson’s characters depicting an average American family and interesting characters named after his parents and sisters other than Bart’s character The animated sitcom series Simpson has been on air since 1989, becoming the longest running sitcom ever. Matt was starting to gain Simpsons fans and followers. That added significantly to his money. Matt has been inducted into Hollywood Hall of Fame for his creations and contribution in his field. It was announced in January 2016 that Groening is engaged in negotiations with Netflix to develop a new animated series.
