Love’s backstory involves a husband who, through education, was madly in love. We were married and seemed like a heaven-made match. But when they wanted to start a family it really seemed to break the two apart they had differing opinions. Then James became very sick of her husband, and died before Love met Joe / Will. The series never discusses how he got sick or what that killed him, but fans believe it was love. Her past murders, for Love, put nothing out of the question. Cosmopolitan brings together a lot of Twitter users who have this hypothesis that Love secretly poisoned James food to kill him. He wouldn’t go along with her family wish and perhaps she wouldn’t divorce him. Or maybe she hoped that if he had limited time left with Love he would feel the need to start a family. Those could serve as motifs in her warped mind.
