Let’s be clear about one thing : anonymous and protected chat apps are vulnerable, too. Such apps are usually best suited for those users who require high-end privacy and would like to leave no traces behind. Signal provides something similar to users able to share encrypted text messages for free without thinking about saving them. The Chat app has an option to delete messages automatically after a certain time. Lately though it does the opposite of what it is meant to do. Deleted messages in Signal are not actually deleted according to latest reports. This is troubling for journalists and whistleblowers who would always like to stay behind the scenes.
