I leave you my experience with herniated discs:
As of today I have 2 herniated discs l4-l5 and l5-s1, I have been trying everything before the surgery for almost two years: the first year visiting an osteopath, going to rehabilitation in the water and doing some exercises on my own I got improve a lot but a few weeks ago the pain returned to reappear and not let me sleep … Next Tuesday I will try a treatment called ozone therapy which consists of injecting ozone into the disc to dehydrate it, when the hernia dehydrates it stops touching the nerve and this stops causing inflammation (In very large hernias this method cannot be applied, in the same way the person who is going to do the treatment will know how to tell you if you are going to improve with the treatment or is it operable). In general, after operations, ozone therapy can be done to dehydrate what remains of the disc … Treatments that I tried and did not work for me at all: Massage therapists, infusions, acupuncture …
Other things that relieve pain are taking a hot bath and then putting ice for 20 minutes in the lumbar area (or where the hernia is) and letting it rest for 2 hours and then using the ice again. Another good one is also self-massage with a tennis ball (on YouTube there are many videos).
In the case of having a lumbal hernia, it is totally forbidden to force or flex the back in a bad way.

What do I take for sciatica

Hello, thanks for the consultation space. I was operated on for a herniated disc in the right lumbar, due to a bad effort, I had another hernia done again in the one I already had and two below the lumbar. I have been with treatment to reduce inflammation: a steroid that they applied to me only once, plus Dolgenal and conrelax every 12 hours, for almost 15 days and four injections one per week of Dolo-Bioplexin, all prescribed by the neurosurgeon who operated on me. I have to wait almost a month to see if it works and for this specialist to see me again.
Being optimistic, the pain has subsided a lot but it makes it impossible for me to do activities like swimming and some stretching exercises and yoga. Do you think it is necessary to operate again, my doctor says that if the discomfort continues, it should be done again.
I await your comments. Greetings.

Maybe a little late to answer you, I tell you about my experience over almost two years without surgery and only going to osteopaths-rehabilitation (an osteopath is a more specialized kinesiologist), the first year I had a horrible time without moving, without sleeping and with a lot of pain as I went to rehabilitation in the pool and with osteopathy I improved my pain and that also added to rehabilitation exercises and muscle stretching in what pain allowed me.
A few days ago I was unable to sleep again and my back was bad, next Tuesday I will try a treatment called ozone therapy: this treatment consists of injecting ozone into the discs of the back to dry them (since they are 88% water) , which causes them to become dehydrated and therefore the pressure on the nerves would give way and therefore reduce the pain … It seems strange to me that ozone therapy has not been proposed to you since almost always after operating they dehydrate the hernia with this treatment if it keeps bothering you. At the moment I have no experience with surgery or ozone therapy but it looks quite promising and supposedly avoids surgery.

Well, the report of the sciatic nerve is very good, at least it makes me rubbery, the pain is very strong, but it is not constant.
Send me about natural remedies to apply on the place. That I get cold or hot, on the middle of the back, lower lumbar area, two of it starts, Thank you
Maria
Home remedies can make a big difference to your sciatic pain, and often relatively quickly. The best thing about home remedies is that they don’t require any prescription or expensive ingredients. One of the simplest home remedies is peanuts. This is because peanuts contain large amounts of magnesium which is crucial in allowing muscles to relax. By eating a small / medium serving of peanuts each day, the muscles surrounding the sciatic nerve are more likely to relax and reduce compression. For more information.
