2

Read the instructions first and then leave them in a place where you can see them and thus leave both hands free.

3

Wash your hands and find the position that is most comfortable for you: sitting on the toilet, with your knees open, slightly bent over with your knees bent and apart; or standing up, place one foot on the toilet.

4

Remove the wrapping from the tampon and look for the circular marks at the end of the applicator or outer tube. Hold the tampon with your writing fingers (index and thumb). The cord has to hang from the inner tube (it is smaller and is inside the large or outer tube).

With the other hand, open your labia (the folds around the entrance to your vagina) and place the rounded tip of the applicator at the entrance of your vagina, pointing it towards your back. Remember that the vagina extends back towards your spine (not up). See image 1.

6

Gently push the tampon towards the entrance and by the time your fingers touch your body and the outer tube is completely inside your vagina. See image 2.

7

When the outer tube is inside you, with your index finger you have to push the inner tube (the one that hangs the thread). See image 3.

8

When the inner tube is also inside your body, use your thumb to pull the outer tube out. You have to make sure that the string hangs out of your body, so that later you can remove the tampon and take it out.
