You must examine your abdomen well to determine the sex of your hamster. You can look for the existence or not of nipples and also look under the tail. If you see testicles it is definitely a male. And if you see about 6 pairs of prominent nipples it will be a female.
In dwarf hamster species they also have a special rather showy and prominent scent gland. If the male is fully mature, this gland is visible, has a yellowish color and is in the navel area. If after looking around that area you cannot distinguish it, it is because your pet has not reached sexual maturity.
