Locate the router’s IP address
For control devices connected to the WiFi network, you need to know the IP adress of your router. Whether you want to know how many devices are connected to your wifi from the PC or from the mobile, you will need to have your IP. If you have no idea what it is, follow these simple steps to find out:
- If you have a computer with a Windows operating system, click Start and then Search.
- In the search field, type “Command Prompt” or “CMD“Click to open it.
- A window with a black background will open. Type the term “ipconfig” there and type Enter. At the end of all the information listed, “Default Gateway” will appear. Next to it is a code, usually it is 192.168.0.1. That is the IP address of your router.
- If you are working from a computer with MacOS operating system, go to the “System Preferences” menu.
- There, select “Network” and then “Advanced”.
- Look for the “TCP / IP” option. Below it appears the IP address of your active router.



Access the administrative page of your router
Now, to see the devices connected to your network, you will need to open your default browser (Chrome, Mozilla, Edge, Safari …). In the search bar, enter the IP address of your router (for example, 192.168.0.1) and hit Enter. Doing so will open the router manufacturer’s website. This is the best way to know who is connected to your wifi without programs.
An access form will appear on the manufacturer’s website for enter your username and password. If you have not previously configured your username, you must enter the default data.
The default username and password may vary depending on the manufacturer, although it is usually ‘admin’. If your IP address is 192.168.0.1, you can check your manufacturer’s information through the NetSpot website. You can also Google your router model and default password.
If you don’t remember the administrative password, you can reset the router to return it to its factory settings. However, you must bear in mind that you will lose all the configuration if you do so.

Find the list of devices connected to WiFi
Once you locate your username and password, you will be able to enter the code to log in and see how many devices are connected to your router. Look for the option that says’Connected devices‘or’Wireless‘and you will see all the devices that, at that moment, are connected to your WiFi. Depending on the interface, some routers will have this information elsewhere. It may be found in the section of ‘Status‘and in the’ tabAdvanced‘
If you do not recognize any of the devices and want to disconnect them, you must change your WiFi password. This is the most recommended to prevent anyone from hacking your router and you can control the devices connected to your WiFi network.
