What is Hair Dye Split?
Half-and – a-half hair (or split dye) is when you split the hair down the middle and dye a different color each half. This can range from natural subtle colors to contrasting bold colors. It’s the perfect way to get a unique look that everyone will have to ask how you’ve done it. 
My Half and Half Hair Color Experience
For about a year I had half and half hair and it’s one of those colors that I miss! I’ve taken a more subtle approach and stuck in the natural tones. I received compliments on a daily basis and felt totally unique as a true booster of trust. What’s more, daily styling was so fun! Parted down the middle gave me the most contrast, but for a completely different look I could part on one side or the other. Despite the fact that this hair color is mostly fun, you may face some minor challenges. Choosing the right makeup can be difficult if you have two different tones to handle. To compliment one warm side and one cool side, I struggled to find the right shade of blush or eyeshadow. Finding the right hair products to accommodate both sides can also be difficult if they are different levels of lightness. My hair’s lighter side always felt drier, while the darkersider side maintained its healthy condition. I easily rectified any problems after some trial and error and continued to love my hair!

This is an example of a high half and half hair contrast. I love this because it’s a combination of warm and cool tones to make a really bold statement.

That’s why I’m usually skeptical when it comes to DIY tips, I cut and color hair professionally. Do it yourself ONLY if you trust your ability and know what you’re doing.
