How do you spell hey or hey

Juliano Aranda

The clarification is very correct. They asked me to review a work, the first word that the writing begins with is: “Hey”. It says: Hey friend. I had doubts, that’s why I made this query that I found more than sobering. I know that it should be written “eh” as it is the proper form.
Excellent article. Thanks

The ey is used informally and tuteando, the eh is used more in power relations or when not speaking.

The hey or hey does not exist in the real academy. We adapt it to make calls for attention but it is an Anglicism. I believe that these Anglicism as the RAE calls it should be accepted since it sounds better and of camaraderie than the term EH (it is usually heard derogatory)

This Anglicism from English is not accepted by the Royal Spanish Academy because it is considered that there is already an interjection with the same use: “eh”. Bad for the RAE. I don’t think they have exactly the same use. To get someone’s attention I use “Hey”; I only use “Eh” when I don’t understand something: Eh?

The bad thing about “Eh!” is that it gives me the impression that it sounds more “aggressive”, being used more to draw attention “to” someone, rather than to get the attention “of” someone. On the other hand “Hey” or “Hey” seem kinder ways to address someone with no other purpose than to say hello. Examples: – “Hey, don’t run! Drop those copper pipes and get out of here!” – “Hey / Hey Antonio! How are you? I’m so glad to see you.” Likewise, reversing the use of Eh and Hey / Ey in these phrases would seem squeaky to me. What do you think about it? Is it just my perception, or do you agree with me? Greetings!

I like to use hey well but hey is very good too
