Getflix Smart DNS + VPN Review 2019-Good for online privacy streaming!ByNovak Bozovic-August 20, 2019″2/2.367.png “We will slowly begin this review by introducing you to the most prominent features of this VPN. We have created three tables for this purpose which display quick facts about Getflix. So first let’s check out some of this VPN’s most important comparative points. Jurisdiction over Quick Facts The Seychelles Republic. Logs Server number 90 + Servers in 37 countries. Getflix Media Streaming Support for American Netflix YES Hulu YES Amazon Prime Video YES Kodi YES The Bottom Line Pros Unblocks websites that stream media. Small server network Complicated setup Leaks personal data Slow performance. Getflix is one of the least potent VPNs we’ve ever found. It’s plagued by a lot of issues and we strongly recommend avoiding it. Our Score 3.2/10 Dear visitors to TechNadu, that would be all about our introductory segment. Make sure to keep reading, to learn more and discover everything that Getflix offers.
We do not like the fact that this VPN sells lifetime (on occasion) subscriptions which are not a viable business model. Typically, VPNs that sell lifetime subscriptions are not available in the long term (though Getflix has been around for several years). Our result: 5/10. So from whence comes Getflix? Is it from a country with relaxed data collection laws or is it obliged to collect personal information? Let’s figure it out.
Jurisdiction Applicable Laws
Through the legal documents of this VPN we could not find a connection between Global Stealth and Digiport. That means we can’t confirm whether Digiport owns Global Stealth or whether these two companies are in some other type of relationship. It is however important to note that in its legal documents, Getflix only references ‘ Dynamic Stealth Inc. ‘ With this said we conclude that your data will be under Seychelles jurisdiction. It is also worth noting that numerous other VPNs have chosen to base their operations on this country. We talk about the Astrill VPNFrootVPN14-Eyes Alliance which is also a good thing to know about.
Past Data Leaks
The only thing we don’t like about this VPN is the fact that licenses sometimes sell for ‘ lifetime. ‘ As often as this VPN and its parent company are active, Getflix sells a license that allows you to use this VPN without limitations. This is something that reputable VPNs won’t find to offer, as this isn’t a viable business model.
Supported Platforms
“2/2.369.jpg” The table below shows which devices and platforms are compatible with the Getflix system. Check it out to get a general idea but also make sure to keep reading as this is not that simple situation. Desktop platform compatibility with Windows macOS Linux platforms. Mobile Web Browser Platforms N / A. Routers ASUS-WRT DD-WRT Tomato, and more. Other Equipment2/2.370.jpg You need to manually configure Getflix’s ‘ Smart DNS ‘ and ‘ VPN ‘ features. This is a tedious and complex process that few will be willing to endure. Our Rating: 1/10. To get started with this VPN you need to sign up for Getflix first. You can decide whether to use your email address (which we recommend you choose) or sign up via Facebook Google Yahoo or Windows Live ID (which is now known as ‘ Microsoft Account ‘). We’re not sure why a VPN would connect its service to companies like Facebook and Google-known to track their users in incredible ways. This is certainly not a first impression which is positive. Once you have completed the sign-up process, you can log in to your account at the website of this VPN. This is where you can register your IP address, so you can use the feature ‘ Smart DNS. ‘ And this is also where you can download Android and iOS macOS ‘ Smart DNS ‘ apps. We assume you are also going to want to install the ‘ VPN ‘ feature which is where the first complications come into play. The Android and iOS macOS devices are not VPNapps. So you need to check the Getflix website for setup guides to get this going. Once you find those you will need to select a VPN protocol you want to use and then you will see a long guide. Surprisingly enough, there are Windows 7 and 8 configuration guides-with Windows 10 nowhere to be found. Of course it is true that previous versions of Windows are not so different. It remains unclear, however, why Getflix did not update these guides as this is not a way to treat the customers who pay for this VPN service. Prominent features
“2/2.371.jpg” Getflix does not even provide the basic features and it still leaks the private data despite saying otherwise on its official website. Our Rating: 1/10. So what kind of features can you expect? Is Getflix a barebones VPN or does it satisfy more advanced user needs? Let’s figure it out! DNS Leak Security NO IPv6 Leak Protection NO Kill-Switch Ad-Blocker Anti-Malware NO Unlimited Server Switches YES Unlimited Bandwidth Unlimited Access YES VPNs use DNS and IPv4 leak security when it comes to basic forms of data leak protection. Although you’ll see Getflix saying they’re offering DNS leak security this function failed during our tests (keep reading for more information). As you can see this VPN doesn’t even provide the most basic features. That means you can’t count on more advanced options like a split-tunneling kill-switch or ad-blocking. In other words, this VPN does not do its primary job of keeping you safe and secure online so we can’t recommend it to even the most basic of users who don’t need anything ‘ extra. ‘
90 + Location Number 90 + Country Number 37 YES Unlimited Switching YES Getflix is among the VPNs with the smallest server networks. Currently it offers over 90 VPN servers as well as over 25 ‘ Smart DNS ‘ servers. To put things in perspective, top-rated VPNs like NordVPNExpressVPN offer more than 3000 servers and up to 5500 servers. In a great way you can see that Getflix is trailing behind. On a positive note this VPN enables you to connect to specific servers that can help to unblock regional websites. We also always recommend that you connect to the nearest server available in case you want to browse the Web with minimal throttling. Ease of Use
“2/2.373.jpg” Getflix has no proprietary UI. You need to rely instead on OpenVPN’s GUI which can be quite tedious to use in the long run. Our Rating: Score 2/10. Since Getflix does not provide an official app, you will either need to manually configure it or use OpenVPN’s GUI. Either way you go, you will end up with a somewhat complicated interface that can be very tedious to use. “2/2.374.jpg” Once you connect to a server, you will see a notification telling you which server you have chosen. Now just feel free to browse the Web as you would normally. To disconnect you need to go through a series of menus once more until you see the option to disconnect. Although OpenVPN provides a useful GUI, a true native VPN application can never be replaced by it. There is no way to tinker with settings that allows for different features or list your favorite servers. There’s still some fine tuning available but you need to be an expert to alter different files and dig deeper under the surface of this VPN.
Media Streaming Torrenting Support “2/2.375.jpg” Getflix’s ‘ Smart DNS ‘ function provides a media streaming response. You can use it to unblock various streaming services. Our Score: “10/10. Media Streaming Torrenting Support “2/2.375.jpg” Getflix’s ‘ Smart DNS ‘ function provides a media streaming response. You can use it to unblock various streaming services. Our Score: “10/10. As you already know Getflix comes with a ‘ Smart DNS ‘ feature designed to unblock websites. Does Getflix work with Netflix and other streaming platforms as well? We’ve done a series of tests and here are the results.Torrenting (P2P) YES We finally come up with a Getflix app, which works as advertised. According to our tests we managed to unblock the most popular media streaming services in the world including Netflix and Hulu. The process of setting up everything is a complex one but ultimately it’s worth it (at least for streaming media). We must also add that Getflix supports an immense list of online streaming services and TV channels. And also make sure to visit the official website of this VPN to see which services work on which platforms as well as find out any further guidance. Getflix supports this type of traffic in terms of downloading torrents via a number of specialized servers. Knowing what kind of performance to expect, however, make sure to continue reading this article.
“2/2.376.jpg” In spite of the fact that Getflix says it uses ultra-strong encryption we beg to differ. Actually we caught Getflix leaking our DNS and exposing our private information. Our Rating: 1/10. We inspect VPNs in this segment from three distinct angles. Let’s see what kind of encryption this VPN is bringing in what it says about its privacy policy and more.
Getflix supports four VPN protocols including PPTP SSTP L2TP and OpenVPN. You can expect different levels of encryption depending on which protocol you decide to use. The official website claims Getflix provides up to 2048-bit encryption via OpenVPN. In theory, this means your private data should be kept extremely secure. But as the VPN admits setting up OpenVPN can be complicated.
Logging Policy
Getflix reserves the right to collect personal data in various ways. This occurs as soon as you visit the website of this VPN and sign up for its services as well as while using its servers. There is no specific information in the privacy policy that could tell us exactly what’s going on behind the scenes. This legal document is generally rather vague and leaves plenty of room for Getflix to collect various types of personal data.

Speed Performance
“2/2.378.jpg” Although Getflix may unblock different streaming services prepare for some buffering. On average, it slowed our web connection by about 80 per cent. Our Score: Score 2/10. “2/2.381.jpg” Figure 3 Remote Getflix server performance; Finally we also checked a remote server’s speed in our case this would be a US server. We got 22.71 Mbps for downloads after connecting to a server in New York, and 1.79 Mbps for uploads. Let’s put all of those numbers in a table now. Download Speed Upload Baseline Data 137.51 Mbps 9.93 Mbps 0 percent Nearby Server 5.22 Mbps 77.2 percent Remote Server 22.72 Mbps 1.89 Mbps On average this VPN slowed down our web connection by around 80 percent. We don’t have to say you can find a better-performing VPN out there easily.
Customer Support
“2/2.382.jpg” Getflix offers a series of customer support resources to assist its customers. You will find guides for the installation of a knowledgebase FAQ segment, and more. We must say however that many of these resources are outdated. Those who are not outdated usually come with unclear instructions and in a user-friendly tone they are not written. You can send them a message (and open a support ticket), or contact them via live chat, to get in touch with someone from Getflix. We used this option a couple of times and have not had the best experience. The person we spoke to was unable to answer our question in one instance-and the chat-box somehow disappeared completely. When we used another Web browser to access this option after a couple of minutes the live-chat feature was still not there. Perhaps it was a technical glitch or perhaps they intentionally shut down the live chat. We were not getting our answer at that time anyway.

If you are planning to subscribe to Getflix, however, we recommend that you check its longer-term plans as they allow you to save some money in the long run. You can also pay by credit card, including the Visa MasterCard American Express Discover JCB, etc. It is worth noting that all of the subscription plans mentioned earlier come with a 14-day trial. You can test Getflix’s ‘ Smart DNS ‘ feature during that time. To use it as a VPN solution you must pay right after you sign up.
