How would you characterize this look?
QA with Independent Hairstylist Natural color of the skin. I love the light show on my customer’s face. With almost all my clients, I do scanning highlights. With the traditional highlight look of the foil, it’s a great way to go lighter without highlighting the whole head. It’s a lot more modern as well. I would recommend this look for any of my clients looking for natural hair color with sun-kissed natural looks. This is perfect for a customer looking for lower highlights of service. Usually customers who only get their hair underlined every 3-5 months depending on how quickly their hair grows. This particular client gets her hair colored for gray coverage only every 6-7 weeks and I suggest to check her highlights each second visit we test. This look is perfect for the user who enjoys the root depth and wants a feathered out highlight more slowly. It’s not a more distinctive traditional line given by a foil highlight that’s right at the root. This look is perfect for our customer who is looking for a sun-kissed beach theme. This technique works on all types of hair / color / face. I styled her hair with moisturizing cream from Oribe Supershine (my favorite product!). My customer has fine hair but little natural wave and frizz. This is a good product for frizz shine, it doesn’t have a nongreasy grip. So it won’t get greasy for typical customers today just to wash their hair a few times a week. I used a round brush to smooth any flyaways and frizz with the same material.
Stylist Color Technician Live-in Beachy Dark To Light Brown
QA How would you describe this look? I think this look is a beach-living look. I love caramel’s multi-dimensional tones and how light it’s from roots to ends. The highlights are low maintenance in this case. This particular customer would need every six to eight weeks to touch her roots. I would also clean the ends at that appointment with a toner. I would then recommend that she come back and revisit her highlights every four to six months. In the case of raising the ends, I still suggest LOreal Smartbond, which is a material capable of protecting and strengthening the hair through the lightening process. For styling, I used full volume Mousse from LOréal Professional Techni-Art with Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oil for shine. Using their curl hold spray, I used a GHD soft curl tong and gave it a soft comb-out with a wide-tooth comb to finish off with a working hairspray. I know everybody’s staring at this look. It’s as low maintenance as you want it to be, but cleaning it every few months keeps it polished. At the moment, the soft and beachy look is on-trend, so this look is ideal for any brunette who wants to add more to their present look.
Sunkissed Caramel Halo Dark Brown Hair Highlights
I love this look so much because it’s gentle and elegant that it looks almost organic. This look brings me back to a time when, in the summer, we were children with the usual sunken halo on top. The suggestions that someone feels about it? I love balayage, but for everyone it’s not. This was a lot of hair painting which looks great straight but the curl is really what shows off the natural lowlight from below. Make with some kind of texture your best look. The cut is ideal for this fun beach wave and needs nothing but a heat-protecting spray of texture and a touch of hairspray. I’d blow it out with a smoothing material unless you have some kind of frizz and go back in with the same strategy. My favorite thing about this look is how it beautifully blends with its natural color and gives it that sunken lightness pop! The suggestions that someone feels about it? Highlights aren’t for everyone, but everybody can rock them when they’re done right to get them to fit naturally with the skin! There are different techniques to make the highlights grow wonderfully naturally so that if you’re on a budget, you don’t have to get them touched every month. I recommend a good leave-in conditioner as far as cosmetics are concerned as we lightened the hair so naturally it could be a little drier than it was before. I like Miracle 20 by Matrix personally because it isn’t too heavy but leaves the hair soft and hydrated. I wouldn’t suggest highlights if your hair is very damaged as they’d just be more damaging. Highlights bring more detail and depth to the hair and are great for someone who needs something new particularly with the coming new seasons! Highlights for summer would be the ideal glow. Caramel Highlights on Dark Brown Bob
QA with Colorist / Hairstylist How would you describe this look? My favorite thing about this look is this natural beauty’s organic smell. Placement and texture look like she’s been on the beach all summer long. When a visitor shows me motivational pictures of such a look, I always like to illustrate the maintenance required for everyday care at home. I like to begin with the importance of a sulfate-free shampoo as well as an ideally used moisturizing treatment once a week. It’s a great way to keep the color fresh in between trips, depending on the level the hair is lightened to a violet-based shampoo. The best part of an appearance like this one is very low maintenance. For a haircut and toner, seven to eight weeks is the perfect time to pre-book. The process of lightening is not required at each visit. For a complete process, I suggest every other visit. The suggestions that someone feels about it? If you’re considering a bob textured caramel balayage, I recommend that you ask yourself if you’re able to do your homework and do your part between trips to the salon to care for your hair. Caramel Highlights Swirled On Dark Brown Hair
QA with Co-owner / Head Stylist How would you describe this look? The suggestions that someone feels about it? For proper storage and healthy hair, I use Wella hair color Oligo Professional bleach and Olaplex. This look is particularly easy to maintain for someone who often doesn’t color their skin. The caramel swirl is a perfect natural combination with a color pop. A couple of babylights add softness to it, making it perfect for any brunette or anyone who wants a change without much maintenance!
Subtle scaleThis look is great for all the shapes of the face because it falls under the collarbone.
How would you describe this look? I’d describe this look as a balayage of beach caramel. The beachy waves are my favorite thing about this look. It brings together the whole look and is at the same time soft but textured. This look is very flexible and everywhere you can wear it. The suggestions that someone feels about it? This color is a great way to transition without too much effort and maintenance from a dark brown to a lighter shade. It loses the color without changing too much. Heat sprays a spray of sea salt and a voluminous mousse are great products to help achieve this look. The messy loose and soft waves will be provided by a curling wand. Redken is my brand of go-to!
Light Brown
How would you describe this look? This look is very soft and dimensional, but it still has the dramatic WOW element! My favorite thing about this look is how the blonde brightens the client with the lightness around her eyes becoming a little heavier. The suggestions that someone feels about it? Knowing your hair texture would be my best advice for this look. This look has many dimensions, providing more depth and a smoother appearance in effect. This is perfect for someone who wants to improve their fine texture. When you look at this theme, you want to make sure that you can replicate the style at home. Having the right items helps to reinforce the color and the look you try to achieve. When you find this style to be Sebastian Eruptek and Wella Sugar Lift, you can’t live without things. Apply a small amount of Eruptek to all over wet hair. Once it’s cool, it makes the hair more workable and adds just enough grittiness to make the hair more curling. After styling, apply the Sugar Lift to get that beachy textured look.
Mix Hair
Redken Chromatics hair color and Shades eq gloss are recommended for the skin. At home, a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner such as Redken Color Extend Magnetics should be used to preserve the color. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for? Any customer who wants color and style of low maintenance hair is the perfect candidate for this look. I made her base color suit her natural color to the same degree and added mocha to cover her natural color. Through adding copper lowlights and toning the rest with a caramel hue, we used her current highlights. To clients with a neutral or cool undertone in their hair, these tones work great. As the color grows out there won’t be a lot of comparison with the color and regeneration of the body. For someone with a busy lifestyle, this makes this the ideal color. For anyone with wavy to straight hair, the design should work great.
QA with the owner of the salon How would you characterize this look and what is your favorite? I? This look would be characterized as hot and natural low maintenance. I? Love the contrast and complexity of this look but it’s still a natural mix. Sometimes too much dark or too much light will wash out the skin tone of a person. Staying close to their natural base color will contrast really well with some lighter tone pops that are two or three shades lighter. When I look at this styling? Want to use a light root booster or styling cream to keep the styling and build weight. I? Round hair brush and add a few soft curls to help to define the hue. Finish separating and keeping with your favorite texture mist. I? I’m totally obsessed with both the Living Proof Prime Style Extender and the Dry Volume Blast. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This look works well and for someone who wants something low maintenance would be a great idea. I? May touch back / gray coverage for several months before the highlights are touched. It could work honestly on any type of hair. In this color, the warm tones work best for someone with medium colored skin.
Go over and over with this beautiful lush blonde waves! The inclusion of these tasty caramel highlights that can accentuate and brighten the waves is an attractive trick to make it more interesting.
Hot Foilayage
QA with Hairstylist How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? This is a foilayage I built on a virgin hair client. I blended it with a technique of hand painting rather than straight up highlights in foil, it’s a soft look. My favorite part is the comfort of this look! Customers today seem to be scared of heat because they think their hair would look brassy. It’s not real.
