Have a successful consultation as it is necessary to consult. If a client has any hangups about unrealistic characteristics then this is not your form. To give your face a softness, I would suggest a softer framing and perhaps an asymmetric fringe. In Heather’s case she has lovely straight jawline bone structure and piercing blue eyes so framing her features can stand out like an image. She has thick hair so smooth texture decreases the volume and provides a cut with versatility and also makes it easy to keep haircut.
Long Platinum Blonde with Bangs
This is a boho chic look with long flowing layers and super chic baby doll bangs showing off the eyes and framing the face. This look is set off by the platinum blonde color. It’s really striking but at the same time still sweet, and with its skin tone it goes beautifully. For her round face shape, long layers and bangs are perfect. The bangs really pop and frame her eyes and lengthen the head with the long layers around her neck. I used aone-inch wand which alternated directions and left the ends to generate the waves. I designed it for texture and size with the Oribe Texture Spray. This isn’t the color for you if you’re more of a low-maintenance person. Based on how quickly your hair grows, you should have retouches every 4-6 weeks to keep platinum blonde. Use hydrating and reinforcing shampoo and conditioner like Gold Lust from Oribe or Repair Wash Rinse from Kevin Murphy to leave and tone with a purple shampoo and conditioner like No Yellow Shampoo from Fanola and Hair Mask. How do you explain this look and what is your favorite?
A with Hair Colorist / Stylist How do you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This is for a girl who, while still looking professional, wants full and bouncy long hair. I recommend Bumble bumble bumble thickening mouse for body and thickness. Long hairstyles like this are suitable for medium textured hair and for someone who needs longer professional hair to wear long curls and blowouts. Her lifestyle is casual, but with a lovely iron work or a nice blowout, this look can still be put together. This look is beauty that is elegant and effortless.
Neck Length Choppy Bob

/ Make-up Artist How do you explain this look and what is your favorite? Just to explain this is not a mom haircut for all of you ladies out there. Don’t let the stereotype confuse you! Actually, right now it’s very much on the trend. Recently, most writers and celebrities have gone with the shorter designs. I love this look because you can wear it straight or with waves on the beach and you always look polished and put together! I used Bedroom. Hair from Kevin Murphy with this client. As a finishing spray, it doubles and adds texture. I curled the hair in sections of her waves with a 1-inch curling iron that guides the hair away from her face. I used a big tooth comb to rake through the hair once the curls cooled and then sprayed all over Bedroom. Hair! I think by holding the distance below the chin, any female might pull this off. If you’ve got fine hair, keep it more organized on the smooth side. With added texture and weight removed in key areas, medium to thick hair tends to do better.

A with Red Seal Hairstylist / Manager How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? I’d characterize the lob as a haircut style of medium length (anywhere from a little above the shoulders to around the collarbone). Normally, my lobs are a little shorter in the back but not a major length difference from back to front just enough to give it the right shape. Usually I don’t have a lot of traditional layers on the outside of the hair, but I have a lot of internal layers and texture through the inside of the haircut to give it the right balance and shape. We leave a long hair cover to give it a solid length look but reduce the bulk through the bottom. My favorite thing about the haircut lob is that you’re making it work for anyone! Various lengths and a few well-placed face framing layers can match every face shape and create a completely different look for each customer.Textured Chubby Face Layers

A with Balayage and Color Specialist / Hairstylist How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? The thing about this look that I absolutely love is the versatility of straight or curly streamlined or voluminous styling. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? For this look, Beach Spray by Unite is great as you spray it into damp hair and just scrunch it and let it dry air! It also includes a heat-protective material that will shield your hair from heat damage if you decide to blow this dry or flat. Simply take a 1-inch curling iron to recreate this look on dry hair and work in sections wrap your hair around the iron from the middle of the hair shaft and leave out the last half inch. Alternate pulling the parts in and out of the face to produce more of a beach wave style then applying Unite’s dry texture spray Texturiza all over to give your hair a second-day look that you’ll see everywhere this season.
Layered Bob
/ Fashion Designer This look is a layered bob and long bob edgy cross! The textured layers from the partial ridge up are what is so distinctive about this haircut. They’re weak enough to trigger movement, but not so much that you’re losing size. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Styling Treatment Oil and Marula Oil Primer Oil Spray are main items for this look. I love finishing with Puff Me for the lift inside and the bounce outside! It’s such a flexible feel. This works best with forms of the round oval heart and square face. This can be easily pulled from fine to thick hair. The woman on the go would love this style for the fitness enthusiast or stay at home mom because it’s still long enough to pull up!
Long and Layered
How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? Technically, this is a short to long layering pattern. This induces motion while the duration is maintained. To a client I’d say this is a long-layered form for create softness with motion and texture around the eyes. His motion is what I love about this form. Instead of slicing and textured a strong shape, I tend to cut with texture. With every flick of my shears, I prefer to create a wave.
Blended Face-Framing Layers
A with Beacon Stylist This is a blended long-layered hairstyle with a face framing emphasis. The face framing and how it affects the layers from the ears forward is my favorite part of this style. It provides you’re looking for movement and texture in a layered look, but without removing too much weight from the ends. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I’ve used the term Aveda Be Cruly. My guest had very thick curly locks, and humidity is a major factor in Florida. I used a heat-protective style preparation with a frizz control. Then I put together a curl enhancing cream and a liquid gel and applied through the ends of her hair from her mid-shaft. I brushed it out for a cleaner, softer look with my round brush. The best part is that she can use the same items for those low maintenance days to style out her natural curl!
Long Layers and Side Swept Bangs
A with Master Stylist This is a large long layered cut with Keune Mousse Styling to enhance its natural body and wave. The way it carves her face shape is my favorite thing about this look. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I highly recommend items from Keune. Here we used the shampoo and conditioner Keune After Color, which features both a ph4 Solamer Uv Protector and a silk protein. I love the Keune Mousse Styling power and fantastic grip. Before and after washing, the hair can be easily manipulated. Use a large round brush to dry the blow. Last but not least Keune Spray Shine! This is one of my favorite all-time go – to items for any hair type that wants to shine without weight. Who doesn’t love beautiful light shiny hair? The benefit of this model is that lifestyles and face shapes can be recommended for all hair types. The wording can be changed somewhat according to the best interests of the customers.

‘ Mid-Length Center Part
A with Cutting Specialist How are you going to describe this look and what’s your favorite? A layered haircut of medium length lies just a few inches below the collarbone and falls just above the neck. My favorite part of this style is that it is not too overwhelming in length and it is very versatile. It also functions to balance and elongate this kind of face with its long layers throughout. What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? To build the gentle waves. I used a 1 1/4-inch barrel curling iron pulling pieces away from the face and left the ends out for a smooth look. My favorite brand for maintaining body and light hold would be the Next Day Hair texture spray from L’OrĂ©al Professional. The type of customer that would enjoy this cut is someone with thick to medium volume hair that looks straight or curly fantastic. A longer cut will help control the hair from being too big under the shoulders and weigh thick hair for more control. For women who love the option to put their hair in a messy bun or ponytail but also like wearing it down, this is the go – to size.
Layered Texturized Bob
in Berkshire County Ma How are you going to describe this look and what’s your favorite? I’d characterize this look as a textured layered bob with highlights of dimensional scanning and lowlights. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Depending on the thickness of the hair and the look you are aiming for, the products used to achieve the style will differ. A lovely oil. Blowing dry cream or spray is a good starting point for preserving softness and movement. It is always a good idea to use a heat-protective to help protect the hair and reduce possible damage. A textured cream that helps hold and differentiate the layers can help eliminate the type that gets mixed all day long. I notice that sometimes a hairspray will make or break a style look. For medium to thick coarse hair on a round shaped face, I highly recommend this style.
Thin Skin Inverted Bob
Finally, with Iq Intelligent Hair Clever Powder, I love to finish this look. This material is fantastic without the rigidity of a finishing spray to offer texture and keep. For most girls, I suggest this hairstyle. It is ideal for this face shape as it tends to relax and lengthen the hair slowly longer around the eyes. The great thing about this style is that the layers make the fashion fall straight into place when blow dried straight without loads of time that most people don’t spare in the morning. Even when time is not a concern, the straight look can be turned into a bouncy curled style that gives plenty of flexibility. Although I would suggest a slightly longer cut on naturally curly hair, this style suits both thin and thick hair. Both naturally straight and wavy hair, this length is more appropriate.
How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? This is a (long bob) textured lob. What I love about it is that it can be fully tailored for every customer. My edgier customers like more of a steeper angle from back to front and perhaps a touch of asymmetry, but this cut can also be very moderate. To order to keep plenty of softness and movement through the sheets, I almost always use my razor to perform this slice. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Before using a wand curling iron or flat iron to create those messy waves, I suggest a spray heat defense (I like Joico Ironclad). I don’t like to decide precisely which method to use because I think that a lot of ways you can achieve the same look. All depends on what you feel most comfortable with. Experimentation is highly encouraged! Changing the curls ‘ course produces a more beachy / messy feel. Leave the ends out or cut the ends out and use a flat iron to add more structure after curling. Once the entire head is curled and the curls are cooled, use a large tooth comb or fingers to break it all up. To offer some texture and weight, I use a texture spray such as Joico Hair Shake or Joico Dry Spray Wax. Complete with an extra hold hairspray (I like Bedhead Masterpiece) and you’re done! For a variety of clients, this hairstyle is perfect. To clients who focus on growing their hair but want to retain a shape and style during the grow-out process, it’s a perfect in between cut. It’s also a great step to a shorter cut if a customer is uncertain of making a big chop! Because this style has a lot of texture and layering, because it adds volume to these hair types, it is ideal for fine to medium texture hair. For someone who doesn’t want to spend a ton of styling time every day, this is a great cut. Once you have it down the styling cycle should be 10-15 max and since it’s more like a messy look dry shampoo and just add to the look next day hair.
Razor Cut Short Bob
How are you going to explain this look and what is your favorite? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I used Kerastase Nectar Thermique heat safety for the blowout for this particular style and finished some Bumble and bumble City Swept Spray Wax. Short hairstyles such as this are ideal for anyone who wants round faces with easy daily hairstyles. For the career woman mom and college girl, it’s a short chic and polished look. It’s about how you’re wearing it! To keep the cut form, I recommend getting a haircut every six to eight weeks. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I used a mousse to add volume and support to keep the curls as well as an oil (Kerastase) on its ends for illumination and handling. We used Oribe’s beach wave and shine spray to finish it off. Without the sticky feeling, this has just enough weight. With this cut, anyone who wants some more structure can actually see a difference. People with wavy to straight hair, especially if their hair is fine, can really benefit from this cut. This can deceive the eye and make the hair look thinner. This is a very simple and quick to grow maintenance cut.
A with Owner / Cosmetologist How do you describe this look and what is your favorite? Right now, this look is very fashionable. I have lots of customers asking for haircuts or lobs for shoulder length because it’s like shorter hair but you can still tie it back and create lots of designs. My favorite thing about this look is you can still feel sexy and your hair is shorter. If your hair looks fantastic, it’s also your confidence. Different hair texture may need different products, but it is a 10 Leave-In Miracle Spray that does all your hair needs. Use a curling iron hot tools to create a loose wavy curl. If the curl appears to be too tight to brush it out and use a texture or separation material. But the younger teens and high school girls like to have side bangs, mostly all ages will wear this style. Before offering this style to my clients, I like to see what fits every person best. For any hairstyle, oval shape faces are perfect, but this look often flatters other face shapes. Stick to whispers or side bangs for the client who wants to try something different as far as bangs are concerned as big bangs are more difficult to adjust to.
How are you going to explain this look and what is your favorite? This look I’d characterize as a slightly graduated soft bob. The model shown has curly hair and, due to the blended graduation and soft lines, can wear it curly and straight. I guess this shape’s my favorite thing is how flexible it is! The side-swept bang often gives a diagonal line to this shape, which allows the eye to shift around and thus helps balance a rounder shaped face with a shorter style. I love how it’s on her collarbone as well. I just love to accentuate girls! I suggest a weightless styling item that delivers medium memory / hold to preserve and recreate this look. It would be ideal for Kevin Murphy Anti. Gravity spray or lotion. I’d also use mousse from Body. Builder or lotion from Unite Blow Collection. Anything that helps to make hair look sleek! For anyone with fine to medium hair, I recommend this look as shorter styles always help the hair look more complete. Because this form has no harsh lines or twists, I also find it works well with girls that are wavy / curly textured. Among those with longer heads, any distance between the collarbone and chin are perfect shapes. It’s all about finding ways to balance the face shape of a person while showcasing their favorite characteristics. If you want to show off your decollate then this is a great haircut for you! I think wearing these bobs a little longer (as shown in the picture) and smoother is also a perfect way to pull off this look for rounder face shapes. Last but not least, shorter looks are also much easier to keep. I’m wearing my hair in a shorter version of this right now, and I think it more than longer hair suits my lifestyle because I’m traveling a lot. This decreases drying time but remains low enough to manage when I need to pull back my hair for workouts. Plus I think the top half knot looks really nice on shorter hair!
I prescribe a mousse while the hair is wet and after the hair is dry, the Chi Spray Shine and Hairspray. To women with a rounder face and thick hair who want to have fun with their hair, I suggest this look.

How do you explain this look and what’s your favorite? This haircut is the trend right now and very flexible. To achieve different looks, it can be styled in a number of ways. Wavy and allled sleek and straight or curly, this haircut is so fun! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? With a perfect combination of Amika products, the look of this customer has been achieved. Her hair with a slight natural wave is medium to thick. We used cool blonde shampoo from Bust Your Brass to brighten her hair color and soften and moisturize hydrate conditioner. Next, we primed her hair with The Wizard for an incredible blowout. Fighting frizz reduces dry blow time and protects against thermal and ultraviolet damage. This material is amazing! The last step in achieving this look is to apply a curling iron to wide loose waves. I used Un. Done Texture Spray to shake the funny locks out of what you see here. With virtually every hair texture and face shape, bobs are fine. That’s the charm of this cut and why it’s a true classic that is reinvented constantly. For almost every woman, this haircut suits universally. To women of all ages, professions and lifestyles, I developed and personalized a version of this haircut. A particular cut hits right under the chin in the photo and goes well with a round or oval shape of the head. It’s ideal for a heart or square shape if we take the distance a little shorter and closer to the jawline. Dinging a slight texture to the ends produces added fashion softness.

A with Hairdresser / Barber How are you going to describe this look and what’s your favorite? To be fun, elegant and playful, I would characterize this look. I have a few favorite things about this look and the first is the versatility. You can dress up or down this hair for either a fun and casual look at the beach or a glamorous red carpet event. It’s really crazy how versatile it can become depending on what is worn or how it’s styled! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Texturetexturetexture! I love texture products and they certainly use this look. Obviously I like using the Davines Sea Salt Spray on wet hair to help add structure and texture or enhance the natural wave, depending on the hair texture. Bangs top knot
An elegant wavy fringe bun. Stylist Nelly showed in a naturally elegant way the elegance of this young woman.
Perfect for short curly hair
This is a side fringe cropped curl cut. Color is a natural level 6 (Goldwell Topchic) with partial movement highlights at the ends. Goldwell (Colorance) 7na toneed for 5. We used Ouidad featherlight cream from root to ends and Ouidad climate control gel on its ends for optimum hold while generating volume to achieve and retain the look. Through shaking the roots, volume is obtained so that the ends are not disturbed. This look is perfect for any kind of curl looking for a look reflecting her at the workplace or enjoying a casual drink with friends.
A with Apprentice How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? Such waves can be paired with jeans and a tee for a relaxed atmosphere or with your favorite date night wear. The number of variations is not diminishing! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I highly recommend Davines Oi Milk and Oi Oil for the dry blow if you start with freshly washed skin. Depending on the type of body, these items are lightweight but buildable. They also provide heat protection and shine for decontaminating properties. You’re going to get a nice clean finish to prepare the hair for warm equipment. This next step also works for the hair of the second day. I’ve been enjoying the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium 1 1/4-inch curling iron for our guests to style lately. I change the curl pattern as I work around the head to establish depth and hair variance, but I always curl the front pieces away from the face. The key here is to complete the look with Davines Dry Texture Spray. It’s not at all sticky, but it adds volume to the hair grip and keeps the waves loose. I’d think it’s a dry shampoo hybrid and a light hairspray. Before breaking the curls into fluid waves, I will spray the hair generously. This cut is a bob with a long texture or slice. I love it because, while maintaining a gentle and natural sexy feel, it looks polished and put together. I dig up the way it looks with waves and flat. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I always use a smoothing cream like the Smooth Perfection Intense Smoothing Cream from Pureoplogy in damp hair. I used a fantastic pomade after blow-drying to tame any frizzies and add to the piecy texture. To create a natural-looking shine, I finished it off with Redken’s Shine Light. For moderate to dense straight to wavy hair, this technique is best. Though it can be modified by changing the face framing layers and adding color to accentuate every face shape, it looks amazing on people with fuller face shapes.
