Alejandro Valverde will reappear in the Giro de Sicilia

The Spanish Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) will reappear in the Tour of Sicily, which will take place between September 28 and October 1, after overcoming the injuries caused by the fall that forced the 2018 world champion to withdraw from the Vuelta in the seventh stage.

Valverde, 41, is on the list of registered along with the still Movistar partner Marc soler, who will compete in 2022 with the UAE Emirates jersey. Along with these two Spanish cyclists appear other important names such as the Italian Vincenzo Nibali, winner of the 3 bigs, the British Chris Froome, winner of four Tours and 2 Laps or the French Romain Bardet.

Also in the Movistar lineup will be the 20-year-old Puerto Rican national champion Abner González, as well as the Dutch Thymen Arensman, 21, third in the final time trial of the Vuelta a España.

The Sicilian race will begin in Avola on the 28th and will end in Mascali on Friday, October 1 after four stages.
