As one of the doctors on medical drama St. Elsewhere, the title had a lot to do with his star turn. Between 1994 and 2000, Harmon starred in another Chicago Hope medical procedure. At the time those were the main positions in Harmon, but none of them would turn out to be as long-running as the one in which he is now. For his absolutely stellar job as investigator Leroy Jethro Gibbs on CBS ‘ NCIS, 68-year-old actor is most likely to be remembered these days after 17 seasons.

As the Naval Criminal Investigation Service Gibbs chief is one of the only characters in the whole series that has appeared in all 17 seasons so far. Though his team has experienced many changes over the years Gibbs is the glue that keeps together the rest of the cast. He did so at the time when the script for the writings, as he wanted to play a more active role in the lives of his children. He said everything about the character and his personality resonated with him right down to the Leroy Jethro Gibbs name. He said: “The name changed to Bob Nelson or something for a moment when I started to get involved in doing it and I just said, ‘ Please, can you put the name back? ‘ ‘ We’re pleased that they put it back because Gibbs is an iconic character! Mark Harmon credits the viewers for most of the show’s success If it weren’t the longest running scripted television series of all time for a loyal audience. Harmon immediately accepts this saying that he owes “a huge thank-you” to the viewers and adds “I never take it for granted.” The cast ‘ NCIS ‘ is kind of like a family Like any family the Pauley Perrette “but for the most part the cast really gets along with each other and has their back. Harmon has been known to make things a bit simpler by pulling pranks on his castmates and he usually has nothing but nice things to say when asked about the cast. He once explained what things were like on the NCIS set to Extra TV, for example, by saying: “It’s a wonderful place; I can think about it all day.” He added that getting a cast that works so well together is a “rare occurrence.” It’s no wonder, given the strength of both the cast and the audience, that NCIS is already considered a classic television show.
