Eric Robinette More Articles February 18 2020 Reports that the show had changed writers sent fans into a tizzy one with many arguing that Disney / Lucasfilm seemed to trip over itself. The number of troubled Star Wars projects are outnumbering smoothly-running productions.

People were still concerned as this was yet another Star Wars film with a troubled history. Nonetheless, nearly all of the Disney Star Wars projects faced major production problems with some of the projects being cancelled outright, especially in the wake of Solo’s poor performance in the first Star Wars movie to lose money. Solo endured the most dramatic shift, fired and replaced by Ron Howard by the directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Rogue One also had many issues with director Gareth Edwards allegedly taking a back seat on post-production when writer-director Tony Gilroy was called in to “save” the movie with major reshoots. The editor of The Rise of Skywalker acknowledged that production had been hurried with Lucasfilm taking the unusual step of editing the set during main photography. Ironically one of the few productions to run fairly smoothly on Disney / Star Wars was Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi and that prompted Disney to let Johnson do a new trilogy.
Is Star Wars future on large or small screen?
Following the Obi-Wan series troubles, many fans have begun to feel that TV might be the best home for Star Wars to go forward. That doesn’t mean that there will never be any more movies Marvel President Kevin Feige is hoping to make a Star Wars movie as well as Mandalorian producer Taika Waititi would like to. That news received a positive response. Nevertheless Disney even had issues with proposed movies which were not made at all. Game of Throne bosses David Benioff and DB Weiss had been approached to direct at least one feature film but bowed to concentrate on their contract with Netflix. Fans who were unhappy with their wrap-up of the Game of Thrones were satisfied but this left Star Wars with a very uncertain future in cinema theatres.
