On 2 January 2020 TMZ acquired old photographs of the Dallas-based tattoo artist Oliver Peck dressed in blackface for various Halloween costumes. For eg, he was wearing a blackface with an Afro and Superhero costume on his chest with N. In comparison Peck dressed up again with an afro as a Lakers basketball player and covered in black makeup. He also posted pictures of himself over his tattoo-covered body to his old MySpace page, adding the dark makeup. As a result many people began to call for the dismissal of the tattoo artist. The Dallas tattoo artist also addressed the resurfaced images adding that the derogatory photos of me that have recently emerged from many years ago can only distract me from the amazing show I enjoyed to be part of and its many talented artists. While Peck and Paramount Company have split ways it will still appear as it was filmed months ago in the 13th season. The first contestant eliminated Nychelle Elise Ink Master Season 13 which was premiered with a turf war theme on January 7, 2020. The artists perform in groups this season based on their hometowns, and include two returning players. The contestants had to tattoo their state form for the first challenge, and could add any design using any theme.
