Kodi as a streaming platform is fully legitimate and allows users to arrange content online and to access it. Nevertheless, add-ons created by third parties that allow users to access copyrighted content illegally are allowed for ispiracy. The entertainment industry has been seeking to crack down on online piracy and the case against Burrows and Wicks is one of many industry-filed cases for copyright infringement. Piracy-enabled Kodi boxes are considered illegal products in the UK and police are cracking down on “full-loaded” sellers of Kodi boxes. Burrows will spend 22 months in prison and will have to obey a Serious Crime Prevention Order that will prohibit any drug from being sold online in the next five years.
