Hello Jose,
Thank you very much for leaving us your comment and for your trust.
Our advice (personally to tell you that I am ATV Veterinary Technical Assistant) is that the best thing would be to operate her, since if she now has young, during pregnancy and lactation what happens to her now will not happen, but once this has passed, she can return to spend every time I have heat. On the other hand, if you operate on her, both mastitis and psychological pregnancies will stop happening, and you will also save other serious problems that usually appear over the years in non-spayed or neutered dogs, such as breast cancer or detachment of the uterus. Besides, mastitis does not go away just like that because of being pregnant and having babies.
Also, I do not know in which country you live, but, for example, in Spain it is illegal to breed dogs if you are not an official breeder with permits. If you think about it, make sure that it is not illegal in your area, think very well what destination the offspring are going to have, because a beagle dog can have quite a few, it is rare that they have one or two, the puppies could end up in a bad place, your dog can have many health complications, since it also already has some, etc.
If you have heard that bitches need to breed once to be happy and well or things like that, keep in mind that it is something totally denied by veterinarians for many years now, bitches have no need to breed, they only have the drive when they have zeal, when it goes away, they don’t think about it, nor do they have the instinct or impulse; It is not like women who, regardless of whether we are at one point in the menstrual cycle or another, can think about whether we would like to have children soon. Thus, if she has an operation, she will not feel bad or sad for not raising children, in fact you will see her carefree, she will enjoy the present feeling healthy and she will not have health problems related to heat again: no mastitis, no psychological pregnancies, or cancer breast, or detachment of the uterus, etc.
I hope I’ve helped.
Greetings,
Irene.
