An easy formula:
80 ml of isopropyl alcohol
10 ml of citronella essential oil
10 ml of neutral liquid soap
You mix the materials by shaking and you have an excellent Mosquito repellent.
You can take this same formula to 1000 ml, adjusting the proportions.
Alcohol is the diffuser, citronella is the insecticide, and soap is the surfactant.
This same recipe can be developed with Neem essential oil. Same technique, same materials. Just change the active ingredient.

To keep mosquitoes out of patios I have successfully tried the Mosquito Trap. With 3 simple ingredients, a disposable bottle and a black cardboard or cloth it is made and the mosquitoes go to it and die. They find it on the Internet. Very effective indeed.
