Thanks to the lady Evangelina Solís Salvatierra, Costa Rica celebrates Mother’s Day
As a custom, in the first decades of the twentieth century, at the beginning of the “mid-year” holidays in a public act that took place in schools, in which a card of honor was given to the best students. Doña Evangelina considered that these recognitions should also be dedicated to mothers as an act of affection and gratitude.
And so I take the initiative to celebrate the Mother’s Day for Costa Rica, who was supported by the teaching staff of the School “Nicolás Ulloa de Heredia“, then going on to be decreed by the National Government Palace on August 15 as National Mother’s Day.
