QA with Susan Ford Creative Director and Master Hair Stylist @ Asha Salon Spa in Chicago Schaumburg Il How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I recommend using Aveda’s Phomollient on wet hair and a good dry styling blow. I used Aveda’s Light Elements Smoothing Fluid as a finishing product for weightless shine. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For anyone who wants a sleek, trendy look that’s short with a distinctly feminine feel, I suggest short layered hairstyles. If you’re sick of your long hair and finally decide to shorten your hair, this cut is perfect as it still gives you the length protection around your face and you can tuck it behind your ears! Pixie cuts such as this will match any face shape and work well on straight hair or curly short hair as well as any hair color. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I always start with good shampoo and Davines Minu shampoo and Minu conditioner. In zone 2 (midshaft) and zone 3 (end) spray Minu leave-in conditioner. It makes really shiny and frizz-free the layered hair. Then use Davines Sea Salt Spray to finish blow-dry with your fingers. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? I think for medium to thick skin, short layered haircuts like this are perfect. It’s great for someone who doesn’t want to waste much styling time. My client has really thick hair and wanted a form without too much makeup which took off the weight and fell into shape. For many face shapes, Shag haircuts will work.
QA with Valbona Stylist design creator @ Scott J. Aveda Salon in New York Ny How would you describe this look and your favorite thing about it? I’d characterize this look as a short layered, graduated pixie bob cut with long side bangs. It is as necessary to choose the right type of hairstyle as to choose a unique dress. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? To build this look, I recommend using Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic and Light Elements Whip Defining. Apply Volumizing Tonic to wet hair and blow dry, use your fingertips to establish root lift and shine, with a small brush around the front and back. Use Defining Whip to finish with a light touch over the layers. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? Short layered hairstyles are trendy and can give you a new look. I believe that this cut works for anybody at any age. This is a particularly fine, short hair look. For fine hair, you can easily be trendy and playful feminine lavish. Undercut Long Pixie
QA with Nadia Elias Master Stylist Stylist @ Chatters Salon Fanshawe in London On Canada How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it? What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? With a flat iron and some texture spray on dried (or bedhead) hair, this look can be styled at home. Using a flat iron, I put small twists and flips across the ends of the client but try to keep the last 1/2-inch straight as it helps to keep the look messy. In order to finish spraying a texture spray inside the hair like Redken Wind Blown 05 and shake it to get that lived-in vibe. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? For someone who has a lot of hair to manage, this look is great. Thick layered hair tends to look puffy and heavy when shorter, and this cut solves the problem by removing all the weight from the bottom of the head. It saves a woman a ton of time getting ready in the morning with thick hair and offers an airy look that thick hair can almost never achieve! Definitely try short layered hairstyles if you have thick hair.
I used the fullness and size of Phyto Volumizing. Then I used the texture of Phyto Certified Fiber Paste. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This look is great for busy women who don’t have too much time but still want to look stylish without any effort.

This layered cut and style is great to maintain the weightless look of the layers for someone with fine to medium hair. I assume the bob’s success stems from the fact that it flatters on almost all shapes of the head.

Short Layer Flirty A-Line Cut
What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? To guests with straight hair, fine hair or medium textured hair, or with curly fine or medium-layered hair, I suggest this look. We could choose to style the look or go all natural for guests with these hair textures! The layered hair itself gives a lot of texture and movement to the look without heavy layers. This might be a great look for a woman with a busy lifestyle where she wants something fun and playful, but she may not have too much time to get upset. The versatility of this look allows you to use a curling wand or smoothing iron to style your hair or just rock your natural texture! I think any hair texture can really rock that style, but if you’ve got coarse or unruly curly short hair, you might just need to put some extra work into styling. I think it’s a great look for people with smaller features. This guest has a very delicate face and she was a little overwhelmed though her long hair was stunning. That look helped to expose her natural beauty and features rather than cover them up!
QA with creator style Phea Monea Hair Stylist / Salon Owner @ Hair Haven Salon Suites in St. Louis Mo How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This layered pixie cut with side-swept bangs is an easy-going free-flowing look. Naturally, this particular client has curly hair, so once she was dry I straightened and molded her hair. This look doesn’t need a lot of product. If necessary, I recommend Argan Oil and a small holding spray. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? I recommend that you look for faces that are heart-shaped or even oval. Short layered hairdos are certainly a look for somebody who doesn’t have much morning prep time.
Bold Short Layered Hair

QA with Shonda Broadus-Jet Colorist / Stylist @ Color Me Rad in Beaufort Sc How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? I feel like this style would work for most people if it was tailored for the consumer, but it would be most attractive for someone with an oval face shape. This cut would be ideal for someone who is used to putting some effort into their fashion routine and is not afraid of an unfinished texture.
Layered Shaggy Bob
What’s your favorite thing about this look? A fun and flirtious cut with a lot of motion is the layered and shaggy bobw with long bangs. It can make limper hair look more thin. I love how purposely this cut looks sloppy and undone. My favorite part is how simple it looks. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? I suggest the use of a 1 1/4-inch curling iron and some texture spray to achieve his feel. Sprays of texture are perfect for any. This adds a bit of rough volume and is in a bottle literally second day skin. I recommend to anybody this break! For almost any face shape, most bob haircuts are appropriate. This is a good cut if you have thinner fine hair to give the illusion of full hair. If you’re a girl on the go, it’s definitely worth trying out if you like the undone look and have no attachments to long locks!
Black Short Feathered Bob
What’s your favorite thing about this look? This is a pronto bob full of feathered! This short hair is a great style of security for medium to long hair customers and takes no more than 90 minutes for complete installation. My favorite thing about this layered look is that it can be curled / manipulated as much as possible because your hair is covered and there is no heat damage to your natural tresses! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Just curl with a 1 1/2-inch curler or flat iron along with a rattail comb to recreate and/or preserve this feel. If your pillowcase is not satin, you may need to sleep with a satin hat. This whispy bob can be rocked by anyone! Nevertheless, the installation method may differ slightly from one with more than four to five inches of hair for a shorted hair user. This look is great with their powdered hair for the client to get up and go! The hair used was Femi but this look will be achieved by most Yaky human hair product extensions.
Bob Feathered Layered
Cute short haircuts such as this feathered bob are very low-maintenance for any woman who wants an edgy look when it comes to hair! It is also a great option for parents who find it extremely difficult to take care of the hair of their daughter.
Bob with Blonde Highlights
How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This bob is a versatile style that can suit any age or style. Including waves in this style gives it a comfortable, not overdone beach feel. When correctly styled, it won’t look so mummy. The style can be blow-dried into a round shape for a more mature age group to give the effect of a short streamlined style that is formed and needs little styling. It’s a fun contemporary style that makes the layered hair feel full and funky. What products do you recommend for this look to be maintained and recreated? I would use items that include the Anti. Gravity spray from Kevin Murphy when wet to raise the roots. I also recommend Young. Again oil at the ends of Kevin Murphy and blow it in. Use the Doo. Over by Kevin Murphy or the Powder. Puff by Kevin Murphy on the roots to give the final touches of volume and create a messier look to finish. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for? The style is extremely versatile and can be used anywhere. It’s especially great for mums who need to tie their hair back because the longer hair on the front can be tied back. This also refers to those who are going to the gym or outdoors. For ladies with fine hair, the style works miracles. As the layered hair is cut from the back and angled, the appearance of thicker hair on the top produces a more complete look than long and stringy. The angle’s focus is important because the style goes from short to long. That angle allows those with round heads to keep their faces elongated and make it look slim. This form can be perfect for those who need little decoration as the angle and shape have been cut into. A blow-dry and brush is all it takes and the hair is set in place.
Short Romantic Daring Haircut
How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? Due to the asymmetry and at the same time romantic due to the layered waves, this is a daring look. The power of variety is my favorite thing about this look. For waves, or even more chaotic, it can be done smooth. It all depends on how you feel right now! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Use a curling iron after brushing to acquire texture. Use an adhesive powder for root volume and finish with oil and spray with flexible fastening to loosen it.QA with Louise McEwen Hairstylist / Owner style designer @ The Mane Switch in Chandler Az How would you characterize this look and what’s your favorite about it? This look I’d describe as a textured bob. How versatile the layered hair length can be is the best thing about short hairstyles like this one. This allows customers to wear a wavy look or even a curly look with a smooth look. This look is still long enough for consumers to be imaginative with soft braids and other up-styles. If you’re hunting for ultra-flattering short-layered hairstyles, find a bob! What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? A styling cream (Lanza Polyester) and argon oil (DermOrganic Argon Oil) are my favorite products to use for this look. Full with a little cream texture (Style Sexy Hair Slept In). It offers the feel of the size and a flirty style that most women look amazing. I love this style because it can be worn by so many people and adapted to their lifestyles. Textured bobs are perfect for those who are looking for shorter but not shorter pixie bob and for women with thicker hair (but may need more texture). If you have thinner hair, this look can still be adjusted to provide you with more volume and movement through the layered hair tresses. This is such a fun and elegant layered style because it can be personalized in countless ways!
Cute Layered Pixie with Bangs
QA with> Georgia’s Princeton Salon Mall in Buford Ga How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? My favorite thing about this cute little bangs pixie is how fast it is! It’s textured and moving so it doesn’t take long to style and it’s not a bulky look that drags the face down. It takes years to lift the face and adds some fun! It’s sassy immediately, but also classy. Pixie cuts may not be for everyone when it comes to short layered haircuts, but if you have feminine features, there are plenty of trendy and sexy options available. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? Using a lightweight shampoo and conditioner will help to keep your hair weightless so that you can get more volume and movement. I used Aveda’s Pure Abundance Style Prep for lifting at the root while shaping, and Phomillient for the rest to add grip without weighing it down. The blowdry was simple and fast! What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This look is great for you if you’re on – the-go because it has limited styling time! The back is tapered very close to the head and the top remains messy so the bang zone is the only position you really need to concentrate on. How amazing is that? Considering new hairstyles like this one knows that it works for all s because for people with thick hair it gets rid of all that length and heaviness and adds texture with layered hair pieces and a fuller hair look for people with fine hair. I think as long as they wear it with confidence, anyone can wear this look!

QA with fashion designer Marcia Omar Hairstylist @ Mission Mane Attraction in Fremont Ca How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite thing about it? You may wear it as pictured on straight hair or add a few beachy waves to make it more alluring and enjoyable. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? This is an easy haircut with low maintenance layers. It works for all ages, but in their 20s-50s it’s especially great for anyone. To make it age-appropriate, you can play with the styling. For layered hair, it is trendy but still very classic style. For oval or heart-shaped heads, we suggest this theme.

Soft Layered Bob
How are you going to describe this look and what is your favorite? This look is a bob with a thin surface. Without the hard lines, it has everything people love about a bob. I love the versatility of short hair with layers like this one. As in this photo, it can be styled flirtious and wavy, but can also be worn sleek and smooth. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? You certainly want to start with a light mousse in order to recreate this look. I love Aerate of Redkin! For curl strands away from the face, I used a 3/4-inch iron for leave the ends out to give it a more wave feel. What kind of customer would you recommend this look for? For almost any, this cut would work, but it would suit someone with fine hair. It’s the right cut to give you enough body to make it look a lot thicker. This cut will also work with any form of the head. Your stylist will tailor the layering to the specifications of your face shape. If you wanted to, you could even add a gentle or blunt boom!
Conservative Disconnected Haircut

QA with Kelli Mason Owner / Stylist Stylist Stylist @ Lux Midland Mi How would you describe this look and what’s your favorite? This is a traditional look that is detached. I love being able to look elegant, polished and professional or new and enjoyable. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated?QA with> Vain in Seattle Wa How are you going to describe this look and what’s your favorite? This is an inverted bob with a very textured angle and plenty of layers and motion. Using messy loose waves to highlight the textured layers has been styled. My favorite thing about it is how small it is and how fast it feels to wake up like this. What items would you suggest for this look to be preserved and recreated? To recreate this look, textured products are important. I like applying a product such as sea salt spray (my favorite is Kevin Murphy’s Hair. Resort) to damp hair before drying or drying air. Use a flat iron or curling iron to add any bend to the hair if the hair doesn’t have a natural wave. What kind of customer do you suggest this look for? Thin layers are medium in texture and the best for this cut is thickness. This works for any face shape but it will be more slimming for rounder heads to change the cut to have a steeper angle. Hair that has a color dimension will pop the layers. Usually messy undone waves are not an ideal look for someone who needs to look very professional, but the cut is sufficiently flexible to look smooth. It’s perfect for someone today who just wants to spend a little time styling their hair day.
