123-97. Spurs debut with substitutes victory against Orlando

The reserve guards, Devin Vassell, who scored 19 points, and Lonnie Walker who added 17 and the renewed and rejuvenated San Antonio Spurs beat the Orlando Magic 123-97.

The San Antonio have 23-2 in season openers under the direction of his coach veteran Gregg Popovich.

The matchup between the rebuilding teams was played at a frenetic pace, with the Spurs becoming more comfortable and outscoring the Magic 21-7 in forced turnovers.

The guard-forward Derrick White scored 16 points and all five of the Spurs starters had double-digit numbers. The Austrian pivot Jakob Poeltl contributed a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds as the leader of the Spurs’ inside game.

For the Magic, the pivot Mo Bamba led the attack with 18 points, followed by power forward Wendell Carter, who contributed 13, and Franz Wagner, who scored 12 points.
