The actress Zelda Rubinstein was born on May 28, 1933, in Pittsburgh, in the state of Pennsylvania, in the United States.

The actress, due to a deficiency in her pituitary gland, did not grow much, staying at a height of 130 cm.

Despite this lack of stature, his childhood and adolescence passed without great personal discomfort.

Thanks to the actress winning a scholarship, she was able to study at the University of Pittsburgh, where she studied bacteriology, obtaining a degree in this subject years later.

When the actress was 25 years old, she moved to California, where she continued studying, this time at the University of California, located in Berkeley, working at the same time in a medical laboratory, where she analyzed blood samples.

In 1978, Zelda studied set design, to begin her career as an actress, studying it at the University of California.

A short time later, she was hired for the film Poltergeist, where she would play the character of Barrons Tangina, the haunting medium who helps the Freelings family fight the paranormal events that happen around the girl Caroline.

During the following years, and supported by her peculiar appearance and small stature, she would get various roles such as elf, fairy, parasychologist, medium, witch, etc.

Zelda was hired both in film and on the small screen, where she starred in the sequel to Postergeist and in horror episodes for television.

In 1982, the actress took part in the film El duende, playing the character of Tangira, for which she won the Saturn Award for best supporting actress.

In 1987 she took part in the Catalan film Bigas Luna Angustia, where she played the role of Alice Pressman.

During the 90s, Zelda appeared in Tales from the Crypt, “Little Witches” or “Mama Dolly”, all of them for the cinema.

In 2001, Zelda is hired to intervene in the television series “The Flintstones.”

During these years the actress continued to work in various films, while participating in various humanitarian causes, such as the fight against AIDS or supporting small people.

On January 27, 2010, the actress died in the city of Los Angeles, California.
