The Os is already on its extended support span and from next year, they will no longer receive security updates or new features. Microsoft’s encourage consumers to upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 7 has been one of the most popular Microsoft operating systems of all time and it seems as if it’s time for the ageing Os to hang up their boots. Microsoft gave WindowsLatest announcement. Windows 8 will cease support January 2023. Windows 8 was not particularly successful because for various reasons, users chose to stick to Windows 7, including a cleaner Ui and better overall performance. On the other hand Windows 10 was a significant update and in the past Microsoft offered the Os as a free upgrade to both Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. Windows 10 is the flagship operating system of Microsoft, and will see the end of support on October 13, 2020. Extended support for the new Os gene expires on 14 October 2025. We are expected to see the next version of Microsoft’s Os come out sometime by next year. Staying on the current operating system for security purposes is recommended, and Windows 7 users can switch on to a newer version until Microsoft’s Os ends support or alternative choices such as Linux and Mac Os.
