Recently, in an interview, he discussed everything, and how he really put his foot down when it came to casting Downey Jr. He clearly had a dream for what the role was going to be and thought the actor he had selected was the best fit. We couldn’t be more agreed! Just put it, because he does it in such a way that no one else can! There are so many ways the actor can contribute to the character that he almost seems to be playing it as if the role was written specifically for him. He’s two essential qualities that make him perfect for the film, confident and effective. Downey Jr. also has a larger than life personality that is unprecedented when it came to choosing the right star, something that was really important to Favreau. With so many incredibly talented Hollywood actors the iconic role could very easily have gone to someone else.
