He was raised in a family of artists, his father is a painter and his mother is the writer Joyce maynard. He has a total of 8 brothers and sisters, between the ages of 7 and 32. Some of them are half-siblings or adopted.He began acting when he was sent to an elementary school specializing in the arts, where students performed works by Shakespeare.
