iPhones are now compliant with Google Account Two-Step VerificationByBill Toulas-January 15, 2020.196 The authentication process takes place via Bluetooth co-authentication. It took a while for Google to add support to the computers of the rival but eventually they did. Google has decided it’s time to adopt the “Safe Enclave” that beats iPhone processors inside and lets the user authenticate in different platforms. This means that these iPhone devices will now be compliant with Google Accounts ‘ two-factor authentication mechanism that enables Apple’s customers to securely login to their account via the Chrome browser. This has been possible since the April 2019Google Smart Lock app for Android devices. The Protected Enclave is the Qualcomm Secure Execution Environment (Qsee) equivalent widely used on Android phones. It’s a microkernel host that boots separately from the rest of the system and irrespective of the other Cpu components. What’s involved is creating an encryption key that is connected to the user I d and isolated from any other Cpu operation. It is the part responsible for storing the passwords and ephemeral encryption keys for Face I d biometric data. The Protected Enclave’s purpose is to help ensure user authentication exactly as the Qsee does on Android. Which means it is much safer than Sms authentication, and better than the “authenticator applications.” The only requirement for using your iPhone as your Google Account’s 2Sv key would be to connect your smartphone to your computer via Bluetooth and use the Chrome browser to log in to your account. Of course entering the password is still important as the phone will only act as user authentication confirmation. This frees iPhone users from having to rely on the unreliable 2Fa based Sms that has been breached several times in recent months by Sim-swapping actors. Cloudflare No Longer Serving 8chan and Creator is Calling For Shut Down
ByBill Toulas-August 5, 2019.197 Cloudflare eventually decided to drop its support to 8chan so that the platform is no longer protected by DdoS.This fall from Cloudflare has caused 8chan to suffer a major disruption which is offline at the time of writing. As the website administrators have explained the downtime can stretch up to 48 hours as they attempt to find a solution. Yet nothing has been said about the recent mass shootings as to whether 8chan will take a new approach to moderating their culture or whether they agree that hate speech is still part of the freedom of expression that they stand so firmly by. Some of you may have read the @CloudflareThere may be some downtime in the next 24-48 hours while we find a solution (including our email, which may impact timely compliance with law enforcement requests). 8chan (8ch.net) (@infinitechan) August 5, 2019This fall from Cloudflare has caused 8chan to suffer a major disruption which is offline at the time of writing.
