Diesel was born in New York City on 18 July 1967 to the astrologer Delora Sherleen Vincent. Although he has an African-American stepfather, Irving H. Vincent, who is an acting teacher and theater manager, he has never met his biological father. He was always interested in performing and made his stage debut at the age of seven in the children’s play entitled Dinosaur Gate.
