Some took this as implying that the film would have at least one (if not more) permanent death. (Stop reading now if you try to avoid Endgame spoilers.) Sadly, that turned out to be the case. Natasha and her best friend Clint Barton (Hawkeye / Ronin) went to Vormir in the year 2014 so Thanos could get the Soul Stone. Like we have seen a human sacrifice had to be made in the Infinity War. Natasha and Clint struggled to save the other but in the end she fell to her death off the cliff. Clint then made his way back to 2023 with hesitation to tell the others. Like we ve seen twice before this holding the Stones has devastating effects on the consumer, the second came out of the end of the film. Thanos and Hulk barely survived, so it was sad to see Tony succumb to his wounds. His career had been celebrated with a stunning lakeside funeral attended by all his cohorts.
