Torrent Release News Websites Heavily Targeted by Copyright OwnersByBill Toulas-January 2 2019 “2/2.1434.jpg” Although there is no illegal activity on these websites, their owners have no means of persuading reporters to call them white. Piracy is now treated as a unified ecosystem, without taking into account the actual details of legality underpinning each website. According to data from Google’s Transparency Report anti-piracy organizations and representatives of copyright owners have repeatedly targeted websites that specialize in reporting this year’s new torrent releases. Websites such as swetracker.org and predb.org are dedicated to reporting merely when a new torrent is released online, and they contain no links to the content, no torrent files, no samples of content, and nothing else that could be considered part of a copyrighted work. This fact does not seem to stop anti-piracy firms from reporting these websites to Google, with the latter removing about 65% of the reporting links from their indexes. Predb.org reported 2204 URLs while swetracker.org was reported for another 1315 URLs according to the 2018 reports. Although all content on these sites clearly does not infringe any copyrights, the scanning tools used by copyright protection agencies have trouble telling the difference as there are all the ‘ guilty ‘ keywords. “2/2.1435.png” ByGabriela Vatu-August 29, 2018 “2/2.1436.jpg” PlayStation View releases over 200 new local connected channels More than 450 such channels are now available on PS Vue PlayStation Vue has announced that hundreds of local channels have been added and have gone live to subscribe. 200 new local channels have been added to the list putting the total above 450 according to Sony’s announcement. They’re all ABC CBS Fox and NBC affiliates, and cover cities across the U.S. This should make PlayStation Vue much more appealing to some people at least. Subscribers may have quit the local channels some time ago in favor of saving some money but that is no longer a possibility. The platform now features four bundles to choose from with prices ranging from $44.99 to $79.99 a month. Here’s the full list of new places where affiliated stations can be found.
