What is Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s Nickname Kate Middleton Calls?Jess Bolluyt 29 January 2015 7/7.1073 7/7.1073 Cate Gillon / Getty Images Apple has recently patented a system that would allow users to share music video and image files directly with each other without illegally pirating digital content. But the patent that was first filed in 2011 and granted earlier in January raises the question of whether it really matters if Apple supports file sharing, particularly when it comes to digital music, an environment where first pirating and then streaming has hurt download rates. Patent No. 8934624 for “Digital Content Distribution Device Coupling Rights” defines a system that would allow consumers to gain rights to a legal copy of digital content without downloading it from the digital content store where it is sold. On the contrary, one user might obtain an encrypted copy of the content and use it to create a valid second copy for a second user. The initial file would be encrypted with the first user associated key, and the copy will be encrypted with a different key associated with the second user. Apple’s idea is a device that would give users the legal right to own a copy of a piece of digital content from a digital content store without having to download another copy of the material. It would decouple the acquisition of rights from uploading the digital content to a copy of a piece of digital content. This would not only save download time for consumers, but could also prevent users from making unauthorized digital content copies. IPhone iPad or Mac users can share music files with each other — possibly via AirDrop or a similar ZDNet-based system — once they have purchased the appropriate license for the file. If one user purchases a song on iTunes and shares the file with another user, the second user may go to iTunes to purchase the legal rights to access the copy and decrypt its copy — even though the song has been encrypted with a key associated with the first user — all without downloading the song itself. The patent explains: This reduction in operating expenses can promote a pricing structure of two rates. For example, the digital content store 115 may charge a first price for users downloading from the store a digital content unit, and a second price for users who approve a digital content unit without downloading the product. A portion of the cost savings to the digital content store 115 can therefore be passed on to a customer approving a copy unit to continue the example. As a more specific example, a user may be charged $1 by the digital content store 115 to access an authorized copy of a digital content product. After downloading the entire digital content unit from the store, the same store 115 can charge 50 cents to approve a copying unit. This may encourage users to exchange or copy units of digital content and approve these copies as well. Such sharing may in turn reduce piracy or illegal copying as there may be a reduction in the opportunity cost of having one or more rights in an authorized copy of the digital product. Can people make use of Apple’s music file sharing system? According to a new Nielsen survey 93 percent of the U.S. population listens to music with the average consumer listening to more than 25 hours a week. Seventy-five percent of Americans claim they actively choose to listen to music more than the 73 percent who actively report choosing to watch TV and many of those listeners stream music from one of the many popular streaming services available on the mobile and desktop. In 2014, Americans downloaded 164 billion tracks on-demand through audio and video channels, up from 106 billion in 2013. The speed of weekly streaming increased to new heights and the week ended November 9 marked the first time total streams reached 4 billion for a single week. Of those 3.9 billion were audio and video streams on demand (1.845bn audio and 2.05bn videos). Nielsen adds that 67 per cent of music fans in the U.S. tap into the rising streaming music pipeline in any given week. 7/7.1074 7/7.1074 Source: Nielsen.com Listeners stream instead of downloading even when new releases or favorite artists are not available Listeners expect newly released music to appear on the streaming site within two weeks and teenagers have the lowest tolerance for long-waits with 60 percent expecting newly released music to be available within a week. We are the least likely to buy music we can’t download and choose either to find something else to listen to in order to wait for it to be available for streaming or to switch to free alternatives. Adults aged 18 to 34 can buy one or two songs but are less likely than the average music listener to purchase the full album. Adults aged 35 to 44 are the most likely to buy music they can download with 19 percent reporting purchasing the full album. Nielsen researched what consumers do when they can find their favorite music on a streaming platform and found the answer depends on the type of music customer in question and their expectations for spending. Those who spend the most money on digital music are the most likely to buy music that can not be downloaded. In comparison, those who pay for streaming services are more likely to purchase the album (14%) than “non-streamers” (6%) who are more likely to find a way to get the music free elsewhere. Total fans who are willing to buy music that is absent from streaming services are more likely than the entire track list to buy only one or two songs from the record. Despite music listeners increasingly favoring streaming over downloading downloads, the pace of streaming gains will likely continue to fall. Can Cohen remain neutral at meetings?

Cohen was accused of side-by-side with some Housewives, especially at meetings. But he says he’s not going to. He said “It’s getting harder.” “I feel like I used to say absolutely nothing and now people sometimes say I’m taking sides or talking too much.” See this photo on Instagram A post shared by Nene Leakes (@neneleakes) at 9:57 a.m. PDT on Sept. 26, 2019, but he says he’s trying to walk the fine line even though it’s getting a bit difficult. “But I really try to hear the voice of everyone, and try to mediate if I can? “What’s the biggest problem with breaks in the bathroom? Someone invariably has to pee and they’re like ‘I can’t hold it anymore.’ And I’m like ‘If they go to the bathroom we’re going to have a break.'” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sonja Morgan (@sonjatmorgan) on Jul 25, 2019 at 3:25pm PDT The problem is that once one cast member leaves for the bathroom the other women insist on the glam team to touch hair and make up. Several future cast members have dished over doing several in-person or Skype interviews with casting directors just for not casting. “It’s a blend between myself and the Bravo executives in the production company,” Cohen says. “We either have casting agents in each city or we go to the people and say you know somebody.” See this post

Jacqueline Sahagian More Articles 26 March 2014 Bavaria, a Netherlands brewing company, is angered by a controversial exchange that totally desecrates the names of some of the world’s most respected deceased cultural icons. The commercial for the company’s new fruit-flavored beer takes place in a tropical island paradise where not-too-dead stars like Elvis Kurt Cobain John Lennon Marilyn Monroe and Tupac hide drinking the beer and have a great old time. One of the ad’s particularly offensive aspects is that the stars have depicted all the ongoing ageing at the age they would be if they had lived and cringe causing the definitions of what old age entails. A white dress of 87-year-old Marilyn Monroe fl
ies up predictably re-enacting The Seven Year Itch’s famous scene, and Cobain stifles the urge to vomit when she sees her aged thighs. Elvis’s pot belly sticking out of a palm tree, which he’s trying to use as a hiding spot, gives a passing ship their secret island. The captain of the ship rolls his eyes when the member of the crew peering through binoculars on the island says it looks like Elvis in Dutch. Fan writers and musicians have long spoken about fantasizing about what stars like these would be like if they lived or entertained the idea that they all hang out together in some version of heaven. Figures such as Cobain Lennon and Monroe created works of art which were incredibly significant to a large group of people. One way to cope with their unexpected and painful deaths is to believe that they are working in the afterlife to make art and music that is even better than what they have achieved while they are alive. An example of that is Gottfried Helnwein’s painting Boulevard of Broken Dreams, a popular reinterpretation of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks. The painting features Monroe James Dean and Humphrey Bogart served by Elvis in an iconic cafe scene. Another strategy for coping is imagining what they would have been like if they had lived. Commentator Chuck Klosterman on popular pop culture wrote a piece for What If Kurt Cobain Didn t die? A series of portraits showing what stars would look like, like Lennon Cobain and Janis Joplin, if they were alive today. The organization also enlisted experts in pop culture to comment on how the futures of stars would have gone had their lives not been shortened. Conspiracy theories about these celebrity deaths are also popular with some preferring to justify individuals like Cobain and Monroe’s suicides by theories that they didn’t really kill themselves but were actually killed by rivals using suicide as a cover-up. Another famous conspiracy theory is that the individual is still alive, but that he lives in hiding an argument that was popular with Tupac and Elvis and was played by the Bavaria ad. The Bavaria ad is a particularly offensive example of the trend openly trying to benefit from degrading portrayals of beloved stars if you approve of such coping mechanisms and general curiosity about dead-pop culture icons.@Jacqui WSCS
