The Unicode consortium is announcing 51 new emoji for Unicode version 10.0 due next June including a breastfeeding woman and a vampire mermaid in a hijab. The consortium must determine which character and emojis to choose for the upcoming release. Unicode consortium consists of 100 people, as well as leading companies such as Apple Google Oracle and Ibm, which will use the Unicode as a basis for character encoding.
