Despite businesses willing to pay up to millions to researchers to find major security feats on Apple’s portable Os, many opted not to approach the tech giant as third-party payouts were just too tempting to put down. Researchers have started reporting bugs more frequently to Apple as the tech giant has begun providing bounties for finding vulnerabilities and bugs in iOs. Apple launched its bounty program back in 2016 but very few verified reports of any payouts have been made. With many saying the payouts began to become more routine. The tech giant was known to pay only for researchers who were inducted into the 2016 bounty programme. Yet Zimperium researcher am Donefeld confirmed that the company now provides bounties to independent developers who are also not part of the program. In the past Donefeld has submitted numerous bugs and received payments for them. He was also formally invited to become part of the Bounty Progam. Not everybody gets paid by the tech giant though.
