Richard Thorpe conducts, in 1952, this more than acceptable version of the fantastic tenor Enrico Caruso, one of the most famous in history. The film was nominated for an Oscar with several nominations, finally achieving the best sound. On the other hand, we must highlight the magnificent interpretation that Mario Lanza makes of the tenor’s character.

The story of the film tells the life of Enrico Caruso, a Neapolitan who likes to sing librettos from the “Bell canto”.

But life is not going well for Enrico, since he lives in very sorry conditions and sings his performances of operas in the street, but with this he cannot eat.
