Stephen John Coogan is an actor, comedian and British television producer, born in the town of Middleton (Greater Manchester), on October 14, 1965, in the bosom of a large Irish Catholic family.
After graduating from Manchester Polytechnic School of Theater, he began his career as a comedian and mime. In no time he became one of the most famous faces on the BBC, thanks to his impersonations and comic characters. Among the latter, the loquacious sports commentator stands out. Alan Partridge, which originated several telefilms and two television series, the first “Knowing Me, Knowing You … with Alan Partridge“(which takes its title from a famous ABBA song) issued between 1994 and 1995; and”I’m alan partridge“, which aired from 1997 to 2002.

In 2013 he co-starred with Judi Dench in the film “Philomena”, by director Stephen Frears, in the role of Martin Sixsmith.
In his personal life, Coogan he was married to Caroline Hickman between 2002 and 2005. Currently the actor lives in Brighton to be close to his daughter clear, fruit of a previous relationship with Anna Cole.
